Not bad if you can get a deal on it

Overall not a bad lens for the range you get versus price. Not as sharp as some of Canon's other none L lenses. It's an older lens made for film so the optics are not optimized for a digital sensor and the IS is an older generation so you only get a...

IS works resonably well. Metal mount. Only $200 when purchased with a kit. Fairly solidly built.

A bit on the soft side. Lens creep. Older generation IS. Play in the front element.

Canon zoom lens - 28 mm - 135 mm.

It is a little heavy but you get ues to the weight in a short time, you wont be sorry!

This is a awesome lens for the price! My best outdoor walk around lens to date! If your looking for a lens that has good glass and takes great pictures, this is the one for you....

The lens acts pretty good in Sunny days, and I'm going to try it in Snow days.

Excellent standard lens with IS

This is a good economic alternative to L series lens with excellent picture quality

I use this lens with a Canon 30D. It's a great lens. Great for portraits and shooting in low light conditions. This is my first IS lens and I am really impressed with the difference in quality compared to non IS lenses.

Great walk about lens

Compared to a similar SIGMA EX model (non IS) the Canon lens is more expensive but has slightly better glass. The Sigma has better construction though.

Fast autofocus. IS feature is nice.

Construction should be more rugged.

LOVE this lens

if you only buy one lens outside of a kit lens, this should be it. I can totally see the difference in pictures. Very happy with my purchase!

none really, other than it's heavier/bulkier than the kit lens. Just a matter of getting used to the weight.

Great upgrade

I use this as my main lens on my Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT. Its a great upgrade from the Kit lens as i hardly ever use the wide angle where i have to go down to 18mm. Most of my pictures are from 28mm and above so this fits in very nicely, and i have...

Sharp images.

If you can only afford one lens look at this one..

This is a great lens, if you can only afford one lens for your canon you'll be fairly happy with this. Unfortunately with a C size sensor that 28 mm low end is more like 45mm which means you have to stand back from your subject a bit farther than you...

Good range (great walk around lens), sharp lens, IS system, USM motors (fulltime manual focus)

EF-S doesn't work on 35mm bodies only c sized image sensors on digitals
