Is the Xiaomi Mi Laptop Air 13.3 just another Apple rip-off or could it prove to be a more affordable alternative to the MacBook Air?
Dedicated graphics ; Light and compact ; Comfortable keyboard
Battery life disappointing ; Display beaten by rivals ; Plain design
Xiaomi's latest laptop looks the business, but we need to know UK pricing

Xiaomi's latest premium laptop suffers from one flaw
Superb design ; Fingerprint reader ; Impressively speedy ; Good value for money
Poor battery life ; No SD card reader
The Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air is a fantastic laptop let down only by its battery life and the lack of an SD card reader.

Is a near-25% premium over the previous model worth paying?
Superb design ; Fingerprint reader ; Impressive performance ; Dedicated GPU
Average battery life ; Above average noise levels ; Chinese version of Windows 10 ; No SD card reader
The Mi Notebook Air 13.3 is a fantastic laptop let down by a few niggles like the noisy cooling system and the lack of an English version of Windows 10. Aftersales is where its biggest weakness lies, though.

Xiaomi's laptop gets even better with 7th-gen Intel, Nvidia MX150 and fingerprint scanner. Here's our Mi Air 13 Kaby Lake review.
Once again, whether you should get the Mi Air 13 depends on whether you mind importing it and then changing Chinese Windows to English. If you don't then this is something of a bargain with great design, hardware and performance. Otherwise, look at the...

Upgrade. A quad-core and an MX150 in a notebook that weighs a mere 1.3 kg - the Chinese manufacturer has upgraded its 2018 model of the Air to a level on a par with the Mi Notebook Pro. Despite identical specifications the two differ in performance...
high-quality case ; decent input devices ; bright yet reflective display
thermal throttling ; only available USB-C port used for charging ; high temperatures ; significantly slower than Mi Notebook Pro 15 ; complicated warranty situation
When importing a device straight from China one of the most important justifications is usually the device’s low price. Given that the notebook is not yet available outside of China one has to overcome several obstacles along the way, among others the...

Successful debut. Xiaomi delivers its first product into the notebook field with the Mi Notebook Air. The Chinese manufacturer does not do things in a small way and wants to play in a league with established competitors. You can read in our detailed...
amazing price-performance ratio ; very good IPS display ; unibody-casing ; Nvidia-GPU in compact form factor ; good input devices ; two M.2-SSD slots ; fans hardly ever audible ; battery charges very quickly
moderate battery life ; no SD-card reader ; reflective display ; very low PWM-frequency at low brightness ; device needs to be imported ; a little hot-headed under load ; not available with German keyboard-layout
The Mi Notebook Air represents a successful debut for Xiaomi. Most decisive is that the manufacturer avoids big mistakes with the device. On the pro side, there is a very good display, a unibody case with excellent processing, a good cooling system...

Let's face it – Xiaomi is a company that relies on borrowing design and features from other manufacturers. While this action is usually condemned by many people, it is not definitely a …
Fast and responsive performance; The picture quality is vibrant and contrasty;Relatively good thermal management;Rigid build quality;Battery life above expectations;Fast and accurate fingerprint reader
The panel uses aggressive PWM (our Health-Guard profile fixes that);Input devices are far from the best and tough to get used to;Xiaomi are istty far behind in the customer service department
