Toshiba Satellite Z830

One of the lightest, best-connected and most affordable 13in Ultrabooks on the market.

Incredibly lightweight, Excellent connectivity, Affordable, Backlit keyboard, Matt screen

Design not as clean as rivals, Screen’s poor viewing angles, Mediocre keyboard

Toshiba Satellite Z830-10U review

An excellent ultraportable, but not the best you can buy

Light and slim ; Good keyboard and touchpad ; Impressive speakers ; Good performance ; Plenty of connectivity

Flimsy screen ; Too much bloatware ; Boxy design ; Quite pricey ; Matt screen will disappoint some

If you wanted a stylishly light and powerful Toshiba laptop, you would immediately look to the Japanese company's Portege R830. That is, until you came across the Toshiba Satellite Z830-10U, priced at £999 in the UK (the US price isn't yet available).

Toshiba Satellite Z830-10U review

The Toshiba Satellite Z830-10U is one of Toshiba's ultrabooks, this one aimed at a consumer audience instead of business.

The Toshiba Satellite Z830-10U costs less than the Portégé Z830-10P and has better hardware specifications. Business users will have to swallow the difference though in order to get Windows 7 Professional. For anyone else, the Satellite is the best...

Toshiba Satellite Z830-10T review

The way we hoped Ultrabooks would materialise when we first heard about them is about as close as Toshiba has gotten with its design of the 13.3in Satellite Z830. It's a magnificent piece of work that fits necessary ports and slots into an almost...

If you want to buy an Ultrabook, then buy this one. It's only 1.1kg and 16mm thick, but it has a conventional feature-set and it feels very comfortable to use. We enjoyed reviewing it very much, more so than the models from Acer and ASUS. Our only...

Toshiba Satellite Z830

The Toshiba Satellite Z830 might look like a laptop, but if it could speak it would tell you it's an ultrabook - a new breed of laptop with impossibly thin dimensions, but still packing top-end specs. The Satellite Z830 is 0.83 cm thin and weighs just...

The Toshiba Satellite Z830 is a trendy, lightweight computer that ticks all the boxes. it’s thin, powerful and does everything asked of it without fuss. The Toshiba Satellite Z830 might be a little on the pricey side but it’s still one to watch....

Review: Toshiba Satellite Z830 Ultrabook

Few companies have been making notebooks longer than Toshiba and have managed to retain their identity and unique style. With its Satellite Z830, Toshiba meets the Ultrabook challenge head on with a 2.47 pound and 0.63-inch sliverbook that's well...

Toshiba Satellite Z830 review: First Look

Toshiba has unveiled its first super thin Ultrabook laptop design and Seth Barton was there to weigh it up and form his first impressions.

The Toshiba Satellite Z830 is the most promising Ultrabook design we've seen so far, if only because it doesn't slavishly ape the MacBook Air. Much depends on pricing and battery life though which we won't be able to judge until final production models...
