Toshiba Portégé X20W-D-10V review

Where will business Ultrabooks stop?

Superb finish and design ; Multi-purpose power charger ; Exceptional battery life ; Decent computational performance

Lack of connectivity ; SATA 3 SSD rather than PCIe ; Sub-par graphics performance ; Short warranty

The Toshiba Portégé X20W will appeal to those looking for a laptop that can last all day long, and deliver some serious computational power while weighing almost nothing. It is expensive, but that won’t be a problem for the target audience.

Toshiba Portege X20W-D review

Toshiba gave all its attention to making business PCs after getting out of the shrinking consumer PC market in 2016. If the company's premium Portege X20W-D is an indication of where it's headed, the singular focus might pay off.

The Toshiba Portege X20W-D is a stylish business ultraportable 2-in-1 that's small enough and light enough to easily use as an everyday-carry laptop and tablet. Battery life and performance are solid for office tasks, presentations and light photo...

The keyboard is a bit cramped and shallow and the touchpad is relatively small, too. It has just two ports and no SD card slot. No storage on the laptop for the included stylus.

The featherlight, flexible Portege X20W-D shows Toshiba hasn't lost its touch when it comes to business laptops, delivering a solid 2-in-1 that's ready for long flights, boardroom presentations and coffee shop brainstorms.

Toshiba Portégé X20W review: power, but at a price

Toshiba's latest 2-in-1 is a serious powerhouse, but it'll cost you

Stellar performance; Excellent screen; Lightweight; Long-lasting battery

Expensive; Cooling fans can get very loud

The Toshiba Portege X20W is a beast of a machine, with performance and battery life that quashes even Dell's excellent XPS 13. It's pricey, but if you want an ultraportable that doesn't compromise on power then the X20W will scratch your itch.

Toshiba Portege X20W-D

A bright screen, great stylus support, and 14-hour battery life place the Toshiba Portege X20W-D in a class with the best 2-in-1 convertible laptops.

Slim, light, and compact. Attractive display. Stylus is standard. Ample battery life.

Minimal port selection. Tricky touchpad.

Bottom Line: A bright screen, great stylus support, and 14-hour battery life place the Toshiba Portege X20W-D in a class with the best 2-in-1 convertible laptops.

Toshiba Portege X20W-D review: This 2-in-1 is made for business class

The slim, featherlight Portege X20W is a solid, straightforward convertible laptop that'll add flexibility to your workday.

Toshiba Portege X20W Review

Slim and sturdy magnesium construction; Strong overall performance ; Middling display; Easy-to-lose pen; Short battery life ; The Toshiba Portege X20W is a well-made business 2-in-1 that has great performance but shorter-than-average battery life.

Toshiba Portégé X20W-D review: Premium ultraportable gets a rotating screen

It has been just under a year since I reviewed the Toshiba Portégé Z20t , a 2-in-1 hybrid ultrabook that ticked a lot of boxes for me -- although there were also some niggling annoyances. In the frame now is Toshiba's new 2017 flagship ultrabook, the...

Good 360-degree hinge mechanism ; 7th-generation Intel Core processor ; Bundled stylus ; Lightweight

Short on ports ; USB-C port is unavailable when charging ; Build quality could be sturdier ; 14.5-hour battery life claim seems ambitious

Toshiba Portege X20W

Toshiba's 12.5" ultraportable has 360 degree hinges and a Wacom AES pen. This is an extremely thin and light convertible with a magnesium alloy casing and Intel 7th generation Kaby Lake Core i5 and i7 CPUs. The 15.4mm thick, 2.4 lb. notebook is...
