Toshiba Satellite R830

This light and stylish, magnesium-clad ultra-portable laptop will make a great, affordable travelling companion for productivity-oriented individuals.

Very light (less than 1.5kg), Understated and stylish, Generous connectivity and specs, Excellent value

Mediocre screen, Keyboard feedback too shallow

Toshiba Portégé R830-138 review

This has to be a world-beating laptop for that price, right?

Good office performance ; Decent battery life ; Very thin and light

Very high price ; Some flex in chassis ; Pre-loaded software

Toshiba Portégé R830-1DZ review

If you're looking for a blend of portable and powerful, then the Toshiba Portégé R830-1DZ could be right up your street.

Graphics aside, the raw performance of the Toshiba Portégé R830-1DZ is head and shoulders above the opposition in this group test. The blend of high-quality components and variety of connectivity options in this small shell combine to make the Portégé...

Toshiba Satellite R830-143 review

If you're looking for something to travel around with that you'll use largely for working as well as playing the odd movie then the Toshiba Satellite R80-143 could be right up your street.

Toshiba’s Satellite R830-143 is the smallest of the laptops on test and if you’re after a highly portable model with excellent battery life, it’s hard to beat. Its diminutive size means that some compromises have been made, and while the screen is...

Toshiba Portege R830 review

Toshiba has built a good reputation for its Portege range...

Small, light and portable; lots of different models, with a variety of specifications

Chassis not updated from previous model; this class of notebook may suffer as ultrabooks become more popular

The Toshiba Portege R830 is small and portable, with a good quality keyboard and a nice, matte screen. Toshiba could have done more with the design, but there are models to keep those who do, and don’t need optical drives, happy.

Toshiba Portégé R830-10Q

Toshiba's Portégé range is aimed at high-level business users who need both portability and massive power. Our review sample R830-10Q came with a pretty staggering 8GB of RAM and an Intel Core i7 processor running at 2.7GHz.

Light and thin, incredibly powerful, good keyboard, plenty of sockets and peripheral options

Nagging software and notices, expensive

The Portégé R830 is a superb machine with plenty of power and a generous spec. However, it is expensive and some aspects of the software are irritating to use.

Toshiba Portégé R830 review

Toshiba's ultraportable Sandy Bridge laptop has finally arrived. Is its low weight worth its high cost? Read our review to find out.

The Toshiba Portégé R830 isn't perfect. Not everyone will like the keyboard and it's not cheap, but it's stylish, well-built, has USB3 and lengthy battery life too. It's one of the best ultraportable laptops we've seen yet. Those who need the longest...

Toshiba Portege R830 (PT321A-01L002) ultraportable laptop

Toshiba Portege R830 review: A 13.3in ultraportable with great features, strong build quality and excellent battery life

Excellent performance and battery life ; Good build quality ; Plenty of built-in features

Keyboard not backlit ; Screen not great ; Long charging time

Toshiba's Portege R830 is a great choice for business users who want something that's easily mobile, yet fully-featured and fast. It's not perfect -- it could use a better screen, a backlit keyboard and a quicker charging time -- but it's very well...

Toshiba Portégé R830 - X3435 Notebook Review

Toshiba's Portégé series has been around for quite a while now but they've often slipped under the radar with their more flashy

The Portégé R830 is priced at Rs.85,589 (MRP) and Rs. 80,990 (MOP). It’s got the specs, but the price is quite exorbitant. The only noticeable cons in the performance were lack of a backlit keyboard and slight overheating when pushed to the max....

Review Toshiba Satellite R830-11C Notebook

Business Subnotebook. Toshiba has released the Satellite R830, a 13.3-inch subnotebook that could be of particular interest to business customers. The small, light laptop stands out with its stylish appearance, good battery life and built-in solid...

Matt display, Low weight, Magnesium case, Good battery life, SSD drive, USB 3.0, The slick magnesium case and the SSD. The case doesn’t just look good, it is also very robust and resistant to fingerprints. The SSD makes for a fast-running system

Battery recharges slowly, High price, Some noise from the SSD, A cooling system that would turn the fan off completely in idle. Then the notebook would be almost silent when idle, with there being no conventional hard drive
