Samsung Series 7 Chronos review

Is Samsung'sSeries 7 Chronos laptop a mini multi-media powerhouse?

Multi-media performance ; Portability and battery life ; Future-proofed

Lacks va-va-voom ; Some usability issues ; Touchpad

Samsung Series 7 Chronos review

The Samsung Series 7 Chronos is a long-lasting 15in laptop with more than a few nods to the Apple MacBook Pro range.

With the Series 7 Chronos, Samsung has turned its talents to making a commoditised version of the Apple MacBook Pro. It has much of the same technology inside, and borrows heavily in certain design cues, but using cheaper materials to allow a lower...

Samsung Series 7 Chronos review

The Samsung Series 7 Chronos – or NP700Z5A, to give it its full name – is ridiculously thin for a 15in laptop. It looks so good you won't immediately notice the wrist rest and base are plastic. That's not ideal, but it keeps the weight down. A...

Samsung Series 7 Chronos Laptop Review

We've got the Samsung Series 7 Chronos laptop to review today. It's a very high-spec 15-inch laptop that has the potential to match the performance of the Apple MacBook Pro. Thanks to the inclusion of a 2.2GHz Intel Core i7 quad-core processor and an...

Great design

Overall, we were very impressed with the Samsung Series 7 Chronos, and with a price tag of £900 it appears to be well worth it considering the equivalent MacBook Pro features half the amount of RAM and less video-memory for a slightly higher price.

Samsung Series 7 Chronos

Thin and light may be the name of the game for many when it comes to mobile computing, but there's still plenty of folks who need a full-featured portable machine. Samsung's Series 7 Chronos is just such a PC, packing an optical drive, numpad and...

Great battery life ; Matte display ; Loads of connectivity in a thin profile

Flaky touchpad ; Fit and finish leave something to be desired ; No 1080p display option

The Series 7 Chronos' matte screen, backlit keyboard and prodigious battery life make for a compelling package. But, a glitchy touchpad and middling build quality are holding it back.

Samsung Series 7 Chronos Review: Pretty Without Breaking the Bank

If you're looking to satisfy your craving for brushed-metal exteriors, look no further than the mesmerizing 14-inch Samsung Series 7 Chronos. The machine's subtle minimalism and smooth curves may suggest a MacBook Pro wannabe, but it bears the...

Gorgeous ; Good price point

Uncreative--obviously tries to imitate MacBook Pro ; Much heavier than it looks

The perfect notebook for Windows users who lust after MacBook Pros.

Review: Samsung Series 7 Chronos 14-inch

Samsung's latest jams a standard, 14-inch laptop into what is essentially an ultrabook case, giving you (in theory) the best of both worlds.

Ultra-flat keyboard makes touch-typing surprisingly difficult. Average, unimpressive general app performance. Crash-prone. Could use an extra USB port or two. Weak battery life (barely 4 hours under load)
