The phrase Pocket PC is generally applied to Windows based PDAs, but the OQO model 01 is the real deal.
The model 01 is a beautifully designed, and well thought out mobile computing system. Although I had initial reservations about its real world usefulness, the more I used this pocket sized PC, the more reliant on it I became. Anyone who looks at the...

There is something about the idea of having a complete computer in your pocket that is very alluring. In a way it is what PDAs are all about, but even the best PDAs don't offer what ...
The OQO model 01 is a great little computer, and we'd have one tomorrow if we didn't have to pay for it. But it really can't function as a standard computer unless you fork out for the external monitor and keyboard, and have low level computing needs....

For users who need a scaled-down PC on the road but find an ultraportable too large, the OQO model 01 might be the right choice. But weak power and its small screen and keyboard are likely to keep it a niche product.
A working Windows XP computer in a PDA size. Bluetooth. Gorgeous, innovative design.
Expensive. Weak processing power. USB 1.1 only.

A full Windows XP computer in a supersmall case, the OQO trades off usability and features for its size. It will be just what doctor ordered for some business and industrial users, but it requires too many compromises for general use.
Very versatile; runs full Windows XP OS; Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are included; good docking solution; attractive design.
Weak performance; short battery life; runs hot; too big for a pocket; expensive.
A full Windows XP PC that's barely bigger than a PDA, the OQO Model 01 is incredibly cool but makes too many compromises.

You can enter information on the OQO in several ways. Slide the screen up to reveal the thumb keyboard, which is larger than keyboards you'd find on devices like the BlackBerry, but is still too small for standard typing. You use your thumbs only,...
With the included bundle of accessories, the OQO is easy to hook up to a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and speakers so that you can use it as a standard desktop, then unhook it for easy traveling. What's not to love? Well, the $2,099 price tag puts it more...

While it's an impressive package, it's price and features can't stand up to UMPCs, and sales are reportedly poor. News reports indicate that OQO management knows it can't compete in the consumer space and is targeting business and vertical markets,...

Joel checked out the OQO model 01+ a couple of weeks ago and then sent it to me for a few days before we had to return the review sample. I opened up the large black box and found the OQO device sitting securely in the center foam cutout. I

As long as you don't try to compare it to your laptop or PDA, the OQO Model 01+ shines brilliantly. The functionality is amazing, and the capabilities are outstanding, considering the size of the device. Not to say that...
