Thin, rounded design ; Great new keyboard ; Only Apple laptop with anti-glare option ; Large trackpad with numerous multi-touch gesture choices ; Longer battery life than predecessor
Trackpad button can be hard to press ; No video adapters or Apple Remote in the box ; Battery is no longer user-replaceable

Apple MacBook Pro 2009 (2.66GHz
New aluminum unibody construction comes to the 17-inch model; useful multitouch trackpad gestures; attractive edge-to-edge glass on display; dual graphics provide more power or more battery life.
All-clicking trackpad is a bit awkward; matte screen option costs extra; switching GPUs is not as seamless as it should be.
A little late to the party, Apple's redesigned 17-inch MacBook Pro joins the 15-inch model with a redesigned aluminum body, new trackpad with expanded functionality, and a dual-graphics setup for either longer battery life or better performance.

Big, light, and beautiful Whilst a little late, Apple has finally
Workmanship; Design; Glass Trackpad; Good keyboard (for Mac Os X); Light (for 17")
Hot under heavy loads; Display is very reflective; Few connections; Poor Windows drivers
The performance in applications of the flat laptop is down to the fast Core 2 Duo T9550 and DDR 3 main memory. The graphical performance is however only mid-range for a DTR-notebook with the GeForce 9600M GT.

The design is impeccable, the build superb and the screen extraordinary, but the price is a huge barrier. We ponder the icon that is the Macbook Pro 17in

Apple revamped nearly the entire Mac laptop line during WWDC, leaving only the $1599, entry-level white MacBook unchanged—and that model was revised just two weeks earlier. But while most models gained new capabilities, the 17-inch MacBook Pro was the...
This lower price also makes the 17-inch model more appealing to those considering the 15-inch MacBook Pro but who truly need an ExpressCard slot or who prefer a matte screen, as this is, sadly, the only Mac laptop still offering those features. And...

Consumer review (shopping.com)
I love my macbook. It's great for all types of computer users. You may not want to pay the price for the bigger screen and more features but it's worth it. They last and I've never had any problems with it.
Great Design, Easy To Use, Fast
A little pricey
