LG Gram 17 Review | Trusted Reviews

The LG Gram 17 is an unbelievably lightweight laptop with a gorgeous 17-inch display for Netflix binges and the CPU grunt to power through office work.

Gorgeous 17-inch Quad HD display ; Outstandingly lightweight design ; Super-speedy CPU performance ; Plenty of ports

Slow read and write SSD speeds ; No dedicated graphics card ; Battery life middling

The LG Gram 17 is the very best 17-inch lifestyle laptop on the market thanks to its outstandingly lightweight frame and stellar performance. However, sluggish SSD speeds, stingy storage and a middling battery life prevent it from attaining a perfect...

LG Gram 17 review

One of very few thin and light laptops that gets the bigger picture

Giant screen for an ultraportable ; All-day working battery life ; Not many direct rivals

Awkward keyboard layout ; Lacking in power for the price ; Who’s it for?

Anyone desperate for a big-screen laptop they can carry anywhere will be well served by the LG Gram, but with performance on par with most 13in machines, it’s a niche prospect

LG Gram 17 review: A 17-inch laptop that's under 3 pounds and runs all day

If a 3-pound weight and a big display are your laptop must-haves, the Gram 17 is your answer.

The LG Gram 17 has a nice 17-inch display and great battery life, but weighs as much as a typical 13.3-inch ultraportable. It also has excellent everyday performance and a fine port assortment including Thunderbolt 3.

The Gram 17 is expensive and, between its size and lightness, feels low quality. The speakers and keyboard could be better.

Tired of working on a small laptop screen, but need the weight of an ultraportable laptop? The LG Gram 17 is your answer.

LG gram 17 review

One of the thinnest and lightest laptops ever made, with enough performance for serious design work.

Super-thin, super-lightweight design ; Excellent performance

No discrete graphics card ; Wobbly screen ; Weak audio

The LG Gram has a lovely large screen, enough performance for graphics work and is incredibly light. There’s no other laptop really quite like it, and it’s not extortionately priced either.

LG Gram 17 review: The oversized thin-and-light no one asked for

The LG Gram 17 is an impressive display of what laptop makers can achieve if they focused solely on shaving pounds and inches. It's incredibly thin and light for something packing a 17-inch screen, and is a gorgeous canvas for movies and multitasking....

Thin and light design ; Gorgeous roomy display ; Good battery life for the size

Undersized Backspace and Enter keys ; Middling performance for the size ; Unclear who the audience is

LG Gram 17

LG's Gram 17, astonishingly light for a 17-inch laptop, delivers excellent battery life and a glorious screen. But the relatively high price, the plain design, and some quibbles with the keyboard and touchpad keep it from stardom.

Astoundingly light for a 17-inch laptop. As compact a footprint as possible for the screen size. Outstanding battery life. Excellent display. Comprehensive port selection.

Boring, plain design. Feels flimsier than the alloy body suggests. Uncomfortable touchpad. No touch-screen option. Relatively pricey.

Bottom Line: LG's Gram 17, astonishingly light for a 17-inch laptop, delivers excellent battery life and a glorious screen. But the relatively high price, the plain design, and some quibbles with the keyboard and touchpad keep it from stardom.

LG Gram 17 review: as ultra-portable as 17 inches can get

A giant display in a laptop that weighs just 2.95 pounds.

Beautiful 17-inch screen in a laptop so light it feels fake ; Excellent performance for everyday PC usage ; Nice selection of ports including Thunderbolt 3

There’s a lot of flex ; No dedicated GPU despite high price ; Display isn’t a touchscreen ; Truly horrendous speakers

The Gram 17 is wholly unique on the laptop market, but that also means it’s for a very specific person. A giant screen — even if it can’t be used for super intensive PC tasks — in this unbelievably light package will justify the $1,700 price for some....

LG Gram 17Z990 (i7-8565U. WQXGA) Laptop Review

It\'s exciting to have a 17-inch laptop that\'s as light as a 14-inch Ultrabook. This comes with some disadvantages, however, including a flimsy lid and the lack of any discrete GPU options.

performance not throttled when running on batteries;2x M.2 2280 NVMe slots, 1x DDR4 SODIMM slot;high contrast ratio with accurate colors;fingerprint-enabled Power button;crisp, high quality WQXGA display;thin and very lightweight;USB Type-C...

below average CPU performance; short-lived Turbo Boost;microSD reader only; no full-size SD reader;below average audio quality; weak bass;no Gorilla Glass overlay; very flexible lid;no touchscreen or 4K UHD options;soft keyboard keys and clickpad;no...
