Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 2 Review: The fastest Thinkpad ever

The ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 2 is well-named. It's a ThinkPad on the outside and a PC geek's dream laptop on the inside. It's incredibly fast and has a display that will please the most exacting creative professional, while sporting the things ThinkPad...

Excellent performance ; AMOLED display with excellent HDR ; Excellent keyboard and touchpad ; Superior build quality ; Solid midrange gaming

The ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 2 isn't your father's ThinkPad

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 2

Lenovo freshens its 15.6-inch status-symbol ThinkPad X1 Extreme with new CPU choices, along with faster (if not blazing) graphics and gorgeous displays. But it faces a fierce fight from two refreshed icons: Apple's MacBook Pro and Dell's XPS 15.

Superb 4K screen and keyboard. Option for an OLED panel. Relatively compact and light for a power laptop. Support for 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6).

Disappointing battery life. Maximum 1TB of storage a bit low for this class of machine. Max-Q, not full-fat, GeForce chip.

Bottom Line: Lenovo freshens its 15.6-inch status-symbol ThinkPad X1 Extreme with new CPU choices, along with faster (if not blazing) graphics and gorgeous displays. But it faces a fierce fight from two refreshed icons: Apple's MacBook Pro and Dell's...

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 2 review: A beefy business laptop best left on the charger

With a 4K display and Nvidia GTX 1650 graphics, the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 2 is the kind of laptop you keep fully-charged.

Slick, lightweight design given the specs inside ; Vibrant, bright 4K display ; Classic ThinkPad keyboard provides plenty of travel

Default brightness controls encourage keeping the screen dim ; Graphics performance lags behind that of similar laptops ; Battery life is subpar

The X1 Extreme Gen 2's distinctive feature compared to other ThinkPads is its Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 graphics card, which provides a lot more muscle for games and certain 3D-accelerated applications.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme review: A powerful business laptop with a top-quality 4K screen Review | ZDNet

Excellent CPU, discrete GPU, RAM, storage and display options make for a versatile, if pricey, 15.6-inch ThinkPad.

Very solid hardware design ; Powerful configuration ; 4K screen is superb ; Plenty of RAM and storage options in bespoke configurations

Quite heavy to carry regularly ; Moderate battery life on 4K version

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 2 review – an industrial, yet simple mobile workstation

The ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 2 is Lenovo's iteration of how a thin and light workstation should look like. In terms of specifications, it battles directly with Apple's MacBook Pro 15R…

Thin and light workstation with a great build quality;92% sRGB coverage and no PWM for brightness adjustment (BOE NV156FHM-N63 (BOE07D8));Super comfortable keyboard;Up to 64GB DDR4 memory;Has two Thunderbolt 3 ports and an SD card slot;Dual M.2 slots...

Premium price tag;Core i9-9880H would be too hot in this device; Its display uses PWM for almost all brightness levels (our Health-Guard profile takes care of that);Speakers are average
