Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon review (2017)

The X1 Carbon has been around for years, but this latest version is bang up to date and doesn't remove the ports and features you need. Read our 2017 ThinkPad X1 Carbon review to find out more.

The Lenovo ThinkPad Carbon X1 is a fantastic laptop with an up-to-date design, and one that doesn’t go for any of the feature-chopping you see in many alternatives without the same business leanings. Battery life is excellent, as is build quality and...

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon (2017) review: A modern classic for the battery-bleeding business traveler

At less than 2.5 pounds and a terrific almost-12 hours of battery life, the fifth-generation ThinkPad X1 Carbon makes a great travel companion.

Class-leading battery life, good performance and its light weight are among the ThinkPad X1 Carbon's main virtues.

It's expensive, and there's no touchscreen option.

This isn't the most feature-packed or stylish system. But it does have the classic look and the performance, battery life and light weight a traveler needs from a traditional laptop.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon review: doing it right

No hybrid distractions, just a pure, distilled laptop

Rigid, sturdy design and materials ; Wonderful keyboard ; Great battery life for such a thin PC ; Solid performance ; Matte screen with thin bezels

Widescreen aspect ratio is suboptimal for a work computer ; Poor headphone audio quality ; Charging ports would have been more convenient if not next to one another

To satisfy your mobile computing needs, you can now pick among iPads, Chromebooks, and 2-in-1 Windows devices next to the traditional macOS and Windows laptops. That’s a choice you’ll have to weigh before considering Lenovo’s ThinkPad X1 Carbon. For...

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon (2017)

The latest Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon is a very thin, light, and powerful laptop that lasts nearly 16 hours on battery power.

Almost 16 hours of battery life. Weighs less than 2.5 pounds. Bright, clear display. USB-C with Thunderbolt 3 support. Anti-Fry cable protection.

Ethernet requires a dongle. Omits OneLink+ dock compatibility. No touch screen option.

The latest iteration of the Lenovo X1 Carbon is easy to carry everywhere, it's sleek enough to show off, it'll last all day (and then some), and it has the power to motor through office and multimedia tasks easily. In addition, the screen is brilliant,...

With long battery life, a best-in-class keyboard, and a slim, soft-touch design, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon is the Maserati of business laptops.

Long battery life; Vibrant and colorful display; Comfy, soft-touch chassis; Very light
