Lenovo ThinkPad T450s review

Hot-swappable batteries make this business Ultrabook last even longer

Excellent keyboard ; Sturdy build quality ; Swappable batteries ; Wide array of ports

Thick and heavy ; No dedicated GPU ; Fingerprint reader not standard

Although not as slim, sleek, and light as a consumer Ultrabook, the Lenovo T450s means business. Enterprise customers will appreciate the diverse selection of ports, long battery life and user-replaceable batteries, and an optional fingerprint scanner.

Lenovo ThinkPad T450s review

Enthusiasts with a passion for traditional notebooks will fall in love with the T450s.

Lenovo asks $1,530 for the ThinkPad T450s we tested (and that’s not including the optional 6-cell extended battery). That makes it one of the most expensive notebooks we’ve recently reviewed, and we didn’t see much that justifies the cost aside from...

Lenovo ThinkPad T450s

The Lenovo ThinkPad T450s is the latest, refined version of the quintessential business laptop, with a hot-swappable battery, a full set of connectivity options, and a chassis that can take a licking.

Full set of ports, including mini DisplayPort, Ethernet, and VGA. Hot-swappable battery. Touch screen offers 180-degree tilt. Two pointing devices with improved mouse buttons. Comfortable, backlit keyboard. MIL-SPEC tested.

Shorter battery life than competition. Only a one-year warranty.

It's the little things that can make all the difference, and the Lenovo ThinkPad T450s has them where it counts. The hot-swappable battery, comfortable keyboard, touch screen, build quality, and day-to-day performance are all excellent reasons to pick...

The Lenovo ThinkPad T450s Review: Bridging The Ultrabook

Lenovo's ThinkPad lineup needs almost no introduction, being one of the most well known business lineups around. The T series has been around for what seems like forever, and it is the premium lined aimed at the business and enterprise segments. The...

In the end, the Lenovo ThinkPad T450s is one of the most enjoyable notebooks that I have used. It does not have the flashy styling of some, or the amazingly thin and light lines of others, but the overall package is great and for anyone who is looking...

Lenovo ThinkPad T450s Ultrabook Review

Let the games begin! Equipped with an Nvidia GeForce 940M, the ThinkPad T450s can cope with 3D applications and games - and that for a relatively low extra charge. Thanks to a 96 Wh battery capacity, record-breaking runtimes should be possible.

Light and very rigid casing, Outstanding keyboard, Viewing angle stable IPS screen, Decent application and graphics performance, Low noise development, LTE module can be retrofitted, Extensive security features, Extreme battery life (72 Wh battery),...

Only one memory bank, Uncomfortable ClickPad, Protruding secondary battery

Most users will easily dispense with the at best 20% higher performance of the expensive Core i7-5600U - anyone needing that last bit of CPU power, should opt for the T440p from the outset. The GeForce 940M doubles the ThinkPad's 3D performance and...

Lenovo ThinkPad T450s Review

Casual shoppers might dismiss the new ThinkPad T450s as just another boring business notebook, but the T450s (starting at $881) delivers the latest Intel processor technology, a rugged build, best-in-class battery life, and arguably the best keyboard.

Best-in-class battery life with 6-cell battery ; Built for business and compatible with existing docking hardware ; Surprisingly thin and light for its specs ; Great keyboard and TrackPoint controls

FHD multitouch display isn’t bright enough outdoors ; Buttonless ClickPad can be annoying ; Better configurations are too expensive

First Impressions: Lenovo ThinkPad T450s

Working on details. Lenovo's ThinkPad T450s steps in big shoes. The expectations are high that the successor of the overall successful T440s is even a bit better. In fact, the T450s proves to be a carefully matured perfectionist - and it now challenges...

The ThinkPad T440s has been dominant in our business charts for a year now - and the new T450s has the best chance to take its place. Again, the office classic shines with diverse qualities, which start with the outstanding build over the keyboard...

The Best Business Laptop

After more than 30 hours of research and testing, the Lenovo ThinkPad 450s is our pick for best business laptop for most people. The T450s is fast and durable while still being reasonably thin and light because of its magnesium alloy body. It's easy to...

If you want the best laptop keyboard around in a device that should weather years of use, the Lenovo ThinkPad T450s is the one to beat. Dell’s Latitude E7450 is a close second, giving touchpad users dedicated mouse buttons and a slightly curvier...

Lenovo ThinkPad T450s Laptop Review

The Thinkpad T450s is Lenovo's latest addition to the legendary Thinkpad T series. This update brings Broadwell and several other refinements, but most notably a much needed trackpad redesign. An ultrabook aimed squarely at professionals, the T450s...

Arguably the best Thinkpad T in recent years. Durable carbon fiber lid and inflexible magnesium-alloy chassis. Bright, accurately colored 1080p IPS display. Amazing keyboard, even by Thinkpad standards. Redesigned clickpad works flawlessly. 7 hours or...

Factory upgrades are expensive. Questionable consumer value when considering older Haswell and 13 inch options with similar specs.

ULV (ultra low voltage) Broadwell variants are shipping with HD 5500 and not HD 6000 graphics cores. Based on benchmarks from around the web though, the HD 6000’s performance advantage is minimal despite its doubling up of execution units. Both add...
