ThinkPad T440s review

With this ultrabook, endurance comes at a price

Punchy keyboard ; Lengthy battery life ; Hot swappable batteries ; Sharp display

Quite dense ; Big trade-offs for battery life ; Pointless touchscreen ; Middling value

Lenovo ThinkPad T440s

The Lenovo ThinkPad T440s is a very well-made business ultrabook, but even great battery life, decent performance, and a few unique features aren't enough to make it stand out above the rest.

Lenovo ThinkPad T440s review

While worthy of the ThinkPad name, mediocre design and a troublesome touchpad keep the T440s just short of greatness.

There’s no doubt that the T440s represents a new direction for the ThinkPad line, but whether it’s a better direction is harder to say. In some areas, such as size, weight and display quality, this new ThinkPad is clearly superior to its older...

Lenovo ThinkPad T440s

The Lenovo ThinkPad T440s is a very well-made business ultrabook, but even great battery life, decent performance, and a few unique features aren't enough to make it stand out above the rest.

Solid performance from Intel Core i5-4200u processor. Speedy performance, thanks to solid-state drive.

Local storage is small (128GB). No HDMI output. Touchpad quirks may not appeal to all users.

The Lenovo ThinkPad T440s offers solid performance and a design that will look good in the board room while still surviving the occasional cross-country business trip. While the performance is a bit average, it's a testament to the progress made in the...

Lenovo T440s Review

Among Lenovo 's newest offerings this year is another release in the T-Series lineup, the T440s. With this ultrabook comes all the trimmings you'd expect to see: Windows 8 Pro, a touchscreen display, Intel Haswell under the hood, and the ever-present...

The ThinkPad T440s might disappoint you if you’re in the market for a very thin, sleek ultrabook, as this model is neither of those things. It is a black-colored, no-nonsense ultrabook with a bit of heft behind it and the durability necessary to handle...

Lenovo ThinkPad T440S Review: Best in Business

Lenovo looks to improve the already impressive T series with the Lenovo ThinkPad T440s. It offers considerable performance gains thanks to the jump to Intel's fourth-generation CPUs and a noticeably enhanced visual experience via its 1080p IPS display.

Excellent IPS touch-screen ; Durable chassis design ; Long battery life (with swappable batteries) ; Strong performance

Not exactly lightweight ; Extended battery design is awkward ; Expensive ; The Lenovo ThinkPad T440s improves upon the performance, battery life and display of the old model while retaining the series' best qualities.

Lenovo ThinkPad T440s Ultrabook

Lenovo's fresh design work is evident in the ThinkPad T440s, which is a great all-round business notebook

Excellent keyboard ; Hot-swappable battery ; Solid build quality ; Good range of ports, plus dock option

Touchpad wasn't always usable after waking from sleep ; The 1600x900 panel has narrow vertical viewing angles

Review Lenovo ThinkPad T440s 20AQ-S00500 Notebook

Modernized classic. This year, with the ThinkPad T440s models, Lenovo takes on the legacy of the highly acclaimed T series and does not limit it to just updating the components. It is to be the ultimate in performance and to bring a range of practical...

Lightweight; Case quality; Thin; Keyboard; High system performance; Expandability; Low noise; Low heat; Power Bridge System

Low contrast display and narrow viewing angles; Poor clickpad keys; Limited CPU performance when under heavy graphics load

Lenovo ThinkPad T440s

This no-nonsense, frill-free laptop is all about minimum fuss, but we struggle to see how it can command such a high price point.

The T440s arrives with a very crisp screen, while the internal components deliver excellent overall performance.

This Windows 7-powered machine is a throwback to an earlier era, too bad if you want touch control.

We simply can't fathom how Lenovo decided this all-plastic, touch-free laptop could command such a high price point.
