IBM ThinkPad T42

Just like the ThinkPad T41 before it, the T42 is a great notebook computer, if not a totally perfect one.

Biometric IBM ThinkPad T42 - Exclusive Preview

Security is paramount when it comes to mobile computing, so IBM has implemented fingerprint recognition and data encryption into its latest ThinkPads.

When I first booted up this special ThinkPad T42, I was greeted with the "IBM Fingerprint Software" window. This is where you can configure the fingerprint scanner and enrol the fingers that you wish to use. The first thing I did was to enrol one of my...

Lenovo ThinkPad T42

Lenovo (which has taken over the ThinkPad brand from IBM) has added an integrated fingerprint reader to select models of its flagship thin-and-light l...

No need for passwords, tighter security than older fingerprint scanners

Fingerprint sliding mechanism is time consuming, modest connectivity, excellent battery life

The T42's integrated fingerprint reader requires some patience, but rewards with increased security. This notebook remains a top pick for business travellers.

IBM's new ThinkPad T42, is a healthy 5.4lb boy!

Okay, we don't really know if it's a boy-it can be really hard to sex these things sometimes-but what we do know that is that the ThinkPad T42 has got WiFi and Bluetooth, a relatively lackluster 15.1-inch screen, up to 2GB RAM, the trademark IBM...

IBM ThinkPad T42 2378-EXU

At last, a 15-inch display for the flagship of IBM's ThinkPad line—and for just $50 more than the 14.1-inch LCD. Whichever size you choose, it remains one of the best notebooks you can buy.

ThinkPad T42 review: ThinkPad T42

Great value; excellent performance; bulletproof IBM design; Gigabit Ethernet; long battery life; great service and support.

Lacks FireWire; no flash media slot.

The ThinkPad T42 is a good choice for business professionals looking for a top-notch laptop at a reasonable price.

IBM ThinkPad T42

We couldn't have guessed the ThinkPad T42 would be the value leader in the crop of new Dothan-based portables. It's well-priced for a system of this caliber, but note that others deliver better performance and more features (albeit for more money).
