Lenovo ThinkPad P40 Yoga

The Lenovo ThinkPad P40 Yoga is a well-made 2-in-1 mobile workstation, with a nice display, good performance, and useful extras. The convertible design isn't a huge selling point for this category, but its portability and touch screen may prove useful...

Reasonable price. Better portability than many mobile workstations. High-resolution touch display. Comfortable, innovative keyboard.

Convertibility not particularly compelling for a workstation. No USB-C or Ethernet ports.

Conclusion The Lenovo ThinkPad P40 Yoga is a solid laptop that sits right at the price it should for its power and feature set. It offers better performance than general business laptops, convertible or otherwise, but can't compete with more expensive...

Lenovo ThinkPad P40 Yoga

The Lenovo ThinkPad P40 is a lightweight workstation that combines the versatility of a 2-in-1 with strong graphics power.

Strong performance; Accurate display; Comfortable keyboard; Durable design

Mediocre battery life; Some fan noise; Heavy for a 2-in-1; Other mobile workstations have better graphics capability

Lenovo ThinkPad P40 Yoga Review: 2-in-1 Workstation

If you're tired of that oversized mobile workstation at your office then Lenovo might have just what you need in the ThinkPad P40 Yoga. This 2-in-1 combines the flexibility of a tablet with workstation performance.

Excellent performance ; Color-accurate display ; Solid construction ; Great keyboard

Heavy for a 2-in-1 design ; Mediocre graphics for a workstation ; Unimpressive battery life

Lenovo ThinkPad P40 Yoga 20GQ-000EUS Workstation Review

On-the-go workstation. Versatility is the name of the game as the P40 Yoga targets light workstation users with touchscreen features and a dedicated Quadrio GPU. For a starting price of $1500 USD, however, we were expecting a bit more in terms of...

minimal backlight bleeding ; integrated active stylus ; respectable battery life ; comfortable keyboard ; easy serviceability ; wider color gamut ; quiet fan ; no PWM

unable to maintain maximum Turbo Boost when under extreme loads ; no USB Type-C, Smart Card reader, or Thunderbolt 3 ; small touchpad; small stylus can feel cramped ; no M.2 2280 SSD support ; single-channel RAM only ; no NFC, WWAN, or GPS ; no NVMe...

As explained in our first review of the ThinkPad P40 Yoga, the system caters to a small audience of light workstation users and digital artists who also happen to want 2-in-1 touchscreen features. The system is stuck between two categories as a result:...

Lenovo ThinkPad P40 Yoga Workstation Review

Flexible workstation. Lenovo wants to establish the flexibility of the Yoga series in the workstation range with the new ThinkPad P40 Yoga. We basically get a ThinkPad Yoga 460 with a dedicated GPU, but the test model reveals some drawbacks.

quiet ; versatile ; active digitizer included ; good system performance ; good touchscreen ; very fast Wi-Fi ; good keyboard, but it does clatter a bit

stability of the lid ; high temperatures, thermal throttling under load ; only one year warranty ; small color gamut ; display is glossy and could be brighter ; mediocre Wi-Fi runtime ; bad speakers ; hinges not firm enough ; no modern interfaces ;...

We are not completely convinced by the ThinkPad P40 Yoga. Similar to the bigger workstation model ThinkPad P50s, Lenovo waives many modern technologies (USB-C, USB 3.1, Thunderbolt, NVMe-SSDs, M.2-2280), which is a result of the chassis construction....

Lenovo ThinkPad P40 Yoga

The Lenovo ThinkPad P40, a rare 2-in-1 convertible 14" mobile workstation. The ThinkPad P40 is largely a rebadged ThinkPad Yoga 460 (or ThinkPad Yoga 14, as it's still called in Best Buy stores). It adds NVIDIA Quadro M500M 2GB DDR5 dedicated graphics,...

A rare convertible with NVIDIA Quadro graphics. Solid build, great keyboard, good 2K display option. Comes with active Wacom pen

Ultrabook dual core CPU and low end Quadro graphics not up to heavy design tasks. Battery life is just OK

The Lenovo ThinkPad P40 Yoga is a unique laptop, and thus it's hard to pit it against the competition--there really isn't a direct competitor. The closest would be the Microsoft Surface Book (detachable rather than yoga-style) and Lenovo's own near...

ThinkPad P40 Yoga is Lenovo’s Smallest and Most Flexible Mobile Workstation Yet

Earlier this year, Lenovo released two high-powered mobile workstations, the ThinkPad P50 and P70, for professionals in need of more powerful mobile GPUs on their laptops. Those machines were powered by Intel Xeon processors and NVIDIA Quadro mobile...
