Lenovo Z51 review

A big, bad laptop for educators and students

Gorgeous design ; Beautiful display ; Powerful speakers

Poor performance ; Short battery life ; Heavy

Although the Z51's sleek design and awesome display are gorgeous to look at, this laptop just doesn't have enough under the hood to make it worth considering.

Lenovo Z51-70 (Radeon R9 M375) Notebook Review

Mixed feelings. Lenovo's newcomer wants to qualify for the multimedia division with its mid-range graphics card but blunders in terms of screen and sound. The keyboard might disappoint users who value good office qualities. However, most other traits,...

many different configurations, well-designed, acceptably built casing, dual-band Gigabit Wi-Fi ac, backlit keyboard, nice touchpad, good Turbo utilization, very smooth operation, swift SSD, economic, good battery life

disassembly required for replacing battery or maintenance, all interfaces in the front areas, at best, middling keyboard, pale, viewing angle dependent TN screen, sound system obviously defect

Just where are the IPS screens that Lenovo promised? In any case, that would have looked good in our review sample. Thus, we have to live with an at least matte, middling TN standard with very limited viewing angles and a color reproduction very much...

Lenovo Z51 Review

This mid-range multimedia laptop starts at less than $600 with a Core i5 CPU. Add in robust JBL speakers with a 1080p display. However, poor battery life a screen with limited viewing angles might ruin the deal.

Strong performance ; Comfortable keyboard ; Boisterous speakers

Limited battery life ; Shallow viewing angles ; The Lenovo Z51 offers a strong combination of utility and entertainment with impressive specs and array of multimedia features, but the machine fails to find a real identity with the subpar display and...

Lenovo Z51-70 Notebook Review

Average fare. No maintenance hatch, fixed battery, clattery keyboard, dark display, weak GPU - the Lenovo Z51 does not really provide rays of hope.

Matte Full HD display, Works quietly most of the time, Big storage capacity, Decent battery life

Dark display with narrow viewing angles, Clattery keyboard, No maintenance hatch, Weak GPU

The Lenovo Z51-70 brings sufficient processing performance to satisfy most users. The built-in graphics core allows occasional gaming. The computer usually works quietly and does not get especially warm. Thanks to a 1 TB hard drive, users won't lack...

Not as advertised

Picked up Lenovo Z51-70 from Liverpool today. Despite advertised as Windows 8.1, it came with Windows 10 preinstalled with no option to downgrade to Windows 8.1. Win 10 tries to force you to open a Microsoft account which by default , logs most of your...

Good Product but keyboard is defective!

I would not recommend Lenovo product ever, a keyboard cost how mus=ch to send me a new one. They were notified of this problem right out of the box. A company that does not stand behind their product is nt a company I would to do business with!

Backlit keyboard is a great feature

The keyboard is defective and Lenovo will not honor replacing or repairing this keyboard. Space bar does not work and most letters intermittently skip so every other sentence I must g back and insert the letters it has skipped or omitted. Lenovo will...

Good Budget Laptop

You can find a repair guide on Lenovo's website for disassembling it. My tips for disassembling it: take all the screws in the bottom out, making sure to keep the two closest to the screen separate (these are the M2.5 ones). There's a hole to push the...

Backlit keyboard is nice, mine is evenly lit and easy to type on. Easy transition from my old HP. Numpad good for those who need it. 1080p screen Discrete graphic card, Batman Arkham Origins was still playable at ~24 fps at high settings, 1080p. Good...

Servicability. Replaced the hard drive and RAM when I got it. Lots of tiny screws (all M2 but 2 they decided to throw you off and make M2.5, which are nearly impossible to tell apart visually. You almost have to take the whole laptop apart to replace...
