As impressive as AMD's Ryzen 4000 processors are, it's always needed a proper flagship laptop to showcase its potential. Is that the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7?
Incredible performance ; Tiny footprint ; Record-setting battery life ; Can handle light gaming
Screen is a bit dim ; Small palm rests

The Lenovo Slim 7 Pro X is an uncommon marriage of compact design, blazing-fast parts, high-end features, and a very fair price.

This is what an ultraportable should be.
Monstrous battery life ; Slim and sturdy chassis ; Top-of-class integrated graphics ; Excellent performance for an ultraportable
Keyboard sqeaks ; Screen is dim (and 16:9) ; Currently only sold in a few countries
Lenovo’s Yoga Slim 7 is not just good, it’s exceptional. The combination of performance and power efficiency that AMD’s eight-core Ryzen 7 4800U offers is unlike anything we’ve ever seen.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7 delivers performance and value in a slender shell, even if its battery life isn't quite what we'd hoped.

There's no Thunderbolt 3, but the Leonovo IdeaPad Slim 7 and its Ryzen 7 4800U are about as fast as H-class Intel laptops for a whole lot less money.
So what does this all matter? Well, the main take away is that the Ryzen 7 4800U has finally arrived just in time for the main fight.

Our Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7 looks at a 14-inch Intel-powered laptop available in various configurations which is decent for most users.
Thin, solid design ; USB Type-C charging ; Decent performance for basic computer tasks ; Loud speakers ; Fairly decent battery life, depending on mode ; Acceptable number of ports for your peripherals ; Reasonably priced for the options
No built-in privacy shutter ; Not much in the way of bass ; Not great for gaming

There's a lot to love about Lenovo's laptops. They're designed well. They're reasonably priced for the specs. They're reliable. I've tested a few and owned a few over the years, and it seems like every new model improves on the last. All that...
