Lenovo 100S Chromebook review

A low-priced Chromebook that works well for common tasks.

So very cheap ; Battery life ; Aluminum palm rest

Struggles with multiple tabs ; Poor sound quality

A good, cheap laptop for your light to medium internet browsing needs, the Lenovo 100S' battery life and size makes it a great travel companion.

Lenovo 100S Chromebook review: Where Chrome OS loses the race to the bottom

The Lenovo 100S Chromebook is a neat budget PC, but the barebones Chrome operating system holds it back.

The inexpensive Lenovo 100S Chromebook has a comfortable keyboard, battery life that'll last a workday, and just enough performance to get rudimentary tasks done.

Google's Chrome OS operating system is limited when compared to identically priced competitors that run Windows 10.

The Lenovo 100S Chromebook delivers on the promise of adequate performance at a low price, but dirt-cheap Windows 10 machines have it beat there.

Lenovo 100S review: A workhorse laptop for the budget-minded

This tiny 11-inch laptop does a lot for a rock-bottom price.

The Lenovo 100S has a colorful, fingerprint-resistant shell, a great keyboard and excellent battery life.

Without a touchscreen, the outdated touchpad is even more frustrating. It will slow down under moderate workloads, and the low-resolution screen is as basic as it gets.

The Lenovo Ideapad 100S has the best keyboard we've seen on a low-budget laptop, and more than enough battery life to get through day, but a dated touchpad holds it back.

Lenovo IdeaPad 100S Chromebook review

Lenovo's entry-level IdeaPad 100S Chromebook is simply too cheap for its own good.

A great Chromebook is the computing equivalent of a Swiss Army Knife. It can be pulled out anytime you need to complete a quick task or have a short web browsing session. It isn’t intended to repair your car or cut down a tree, but I have to wonder...

Lenovo 100S Chromebook

The Lenovo 100S Chromebook offers a sleek design along with solid performance and battery life in our tests at a price that's low, even for a Chrome-OS-based laptop.

Low price. Sleek design. Solid performance and battery life in testing.

No touch screen. Narrow viewing angles. Poor-quality webcam.

Conclusion Our Editors' Choice chromebook remains the Asus Chromebook Flip (C100PA-DB02); its screen is smaller at 10.1 inches, but its IPS panel offers great viewing quality, as well as touch and convertible tablet-style capability. If you're faithful...

Lenovo 100s Chromebook Review

This 11.6-inch laptop might not have enough performance for everyone but it can handle basic web browsing with ease. Starting at $179, the 100s Chromebook feels like a great deal but we found sometimes you get what you pay for.

Low price ; Solid build ; Great keyboard and trackpad

Poor speakers ; Limiting Google Chrome OS ; Wobbly screen ; Lenovo's 100s Chromebook has flaws in just about every area we looked at, but for $179 they are easy to look past.

Three things to know about the Lenovo Ideapad 100S Chromebook

Lenovo 's Ideapad 100S Chromebook is a version of its Ideapad 100S that runs Google's Chrome OS operating system rather than Windows 10. In many ways, the two laptops are the same, but Chromebooks and Windows PCs have some fundamental differences and...

Review: Lenovo Ideapad 100S Chromebook

We recently reviewed Lenovo's Ideapad 100S , an inexpensive Windows 10 laptop with enough power for everyday use and moderate battery life. The laptop is ideal for many users, such as students and casual web surfers, but Windows 10 isn't everyone's cup...

If you’ve used and like the Windows 10 version of the Ideapad 100S, you’ll like the Chromebook version too, assuming you prefer using Chrome OS. It comes with the added benefit of being about $20 cheaper than the Windows 10 version, but of course...
