HP ZBook 17 G2 review

The best-testing mobile workstation

Price ; Performance ; Speed

Weight ; Battery life ; Virus-prone ; QHD-only

The HP ZBook 17 G2 does so many things well its flaws are forgivable. It outperforms all the mobile workstations we've reviewed in most categories by a very large margin. However, its display isn't the highest resolution, its battery life is awful, and...

HP ZBook 17 review

A powerful laptop aimed at graphics professionals

Powerful CPU and GPU combination ; Lots of storage, memory and expansion options ; High quality colour-accurate display

Large and hefty ; Expensive ; Audio support is somewhat lacking

The ZBook 17 is a portable powerhouse, and will run any demanding software you can think of. Its colour-accurate display is especially good.

Chuh. Heavy, dude: HP ZBook 17 mobile workstation

Review I don't know which is going to kick in first: pins and needles or deep vein thrombosis. One thing I do know is that having a mobile workstation on your lap makes its presence felt in no time at all.

HP ZBook 17 review

HP's mobile workstation is powerful, well equipped and the optional DreamColor display is stupendous – but so is the price

The ZBook 17 is dauntingly expensive. There are rivals that can match it for performance, upgradability or burly build – Dell’s Precision M4800 is hot on its heels in both areas – but the optional DreamColor display puts the ZBook in a different class....

HP ZBook 17 G2 J8Z55ET Workstation Review

Construction graphics. The current workstation review is focused on AMD's FirePro M6100. It is a new component that is used in HP's mobile workstations for the first time and it is a nice alternative in the configurator. We tested how well it works in...

Port layout, Weight, Power consumption (of the review configuration), Battery runtime (of the review configuration), Display noise (DreamColor display), Price

The HP ZBook 17 G2 is still a really good mobile workstation. You can equip it with very powerful components, there are numerous options for upgrades and the cooling solution is very effective. Some components are only available in the big 17-inch...

Review HP ZBook 17 (E9X11AA-ABA) Workstation

DreamBook? HP has changed the name of its mobile workstations to ZBook, shipping it not only with a different moniker, but also with a completely new chassis and updated components. Our detailed review will show whether this is enough to climb back to...

HP ZBook 17 G2

This laptop has "last years technology" but never the less is very fast and capable. Memory upgrades are cheap, (not DDR4, it requires DDR3L). The M.2 SSD (used for the operating system) is a PCI 2 - 2 lane device, so a little slow compared to the...

Not really - quite heavy, and using the nvidia graphics exclusively, gets through the battery quite quickly.

Incredible Screen / Display

Its Big but exactly what I need. Everything works as advertised. May get the 15 inch version with dreamcolor as well for portability and when I need to travel. Nothing else really compares to this screen. Otherwise its very powerful and does everything...

Display Problems x 2

Unfortunately, I am returning my second zbook for exchange. The first one I received had an inoperative display. The only dream color I could see was black. HP could not resolve the problem so B&H was quick to make the exchange. Not so lucky on the...
