HP Star Wars Special Edition Notebook: the force is so-so with this one

Hey, Pavilion in disguise: I find your lack of battery life disturbing

Subtle rough design ; Fun Star Wars memorabilia ; No brand premium

HP Notebook 15 (2017) review

  (Rating Hidden)

The HP Notebook 15 is priced to appeal to those on a budget, and the specs reflect this. There's nothing flashy going on with its Intel Pentium processor and 4GB of Ram, but HP are confident that it'll do the job for your 'daily needs'. Read our full...

HP 15-ba010nr

The HP 15-ba010nr is your standard budget desktop-replacement laptop: It may not stand out, but it does what it needs to do for a good price.

Affordable. Decent battery life. Comes with one year of free Dropbox storage.

Low 1,366-by-768 resolution with overly glossy coating. Lots of feedback on speakers.

Conclusion The HP 15-ba010nr is, overall, a relatively nondescript budget laptop. There are less expensive options, like the Acer Aspire One Cloudbook 14, and there is certainly no lack of more expensive ones. But for the price, this system generally...

HP 15-BW077AX (A9-9420, Radeon R5) Notebook Review

Slow and Steady. The HP 15-BW077AX is an entry-level laptop from HP with AMD's newest A9 APU. Despite its young age, the CPU feels years behind the competition and the notebook as a whole offers very little for prospective consumers.

sturdy chassis ; good speakers ; relatively quiet and cool operation

very slow CPU ; poor HDD performance ; poor TN display ; mushy keyboard ; short battery life

The HP 15-bw077ax is a laptop of compromises without a lot of payoff. The build quality is good for a budget option, and the notebook stays very cool and very quiet, even under load. The speakers also lend to a rich multimedia experience and are a...

HP Star Wars Special Edition Notebook review: Go to the Dark Side, for less

This laptop is packed with Star Wars goodies, inside and out.

The Star Wars designs covering this laptop look great, and the system is packed with digital content extras. It doesn't cost more than a standard 15-inch HP laptop.

Battery life is on the short side, and the optional Nvidia graphics card isn't what Star-Wars-loving gamers would want for new games.

HP has created a fun piece of fan service with the Star Wars Special Edition Notebook, marrying Star Wars content to a reasonably priced mainstream 15-inch laptop.
