Decent inexpensive laptop for Linux

This laptop is a de-branded HP Pavilion X2 (HP 13-P120CA F3H00UA). The "de-branding" was tape placed over some areas of the case, and one area on the edge of the tablet that was covered up with marker. You can find specs and a disassembly PDF by...

4GB RAM, not 2GB like listed (at least on the one I received). Linux booted with no issues off USB (I tried Ubuntu 15.10, Kubuntu 15.10, and Ubuntu GNOME 15.10). Linux installed with no issues (I went with Ubuntu GNOME). Touch screen and function keys...

Lower resolution for screen size. Thick bezel + 13.3" screen makes the tablet a bit too large to actually use as a tablet. No USB ports on tablet, only on lower case.

A bit weird, but reasonable for some

There were a couple really weird things about this computer: The first is that they provide you with a dvd that contains windows 7 drivers, but no dvd reader. I wasn't trying to get windows 7 working, but I don't know how they expected people to use...

The touchscreen was really nice, product was pleasant to use

Works poorly with linux, you'll spend a lot of time getting it set up and things still won't work right. If you're going to try anyway, you should start with https://wiki.debian.org/InstallingDebianOn/HP/Pavilion%20x2%2010%20(2015%20model)/Jessie
