Great College PC

I spent twice as much on a 17 inch laptop 2 years ago for my son. The smaller size of this one makes it easier to carry, the capacity except for the screen is better and if it "disappears" at college, I'll just order a replacement. I also ordered a...

Picked this up for my daughter at college. Has everything needed (webcam for skype, HDMI out, lots of USB in, 4GB of RAM to run whatever...). Wireless connectivity around the house has been good so I anticipate that it will be OK on campus. Doesn't run...

The only (small) issue is that the multitouch pad is a little jumpy and takes some getting use to

Not too shabby

On the whole, I'm very satisfied with this purchase. This is a budget Notebook that fits exactly what I needed. And with the memory, I feel this thing should give me 2 years of quality performance. (I'm on a tight budget, so price was the paramount...

Price - I bought this on sale, and I could not be happier about that. I basically just needed a Netbook, as I only use my PC for internet browsing and very light gaming (on occasion), but I hated the tiny screen. I got this for not much more than most...

There's no printer port, which kinda sucks. And, when Skyping, my microphone has been known to cut in and out. The keypad is also very delicate. I don't much care for the multi-gesture nature of it, as it seems to shuffle me between websites with an...

Great Laptop

Overall; it's a great laptop. No problems here except the BIOS update right at the beginning. I was actually considering getting another. We recommend to anyone who needs a mid-range machine for internet browsing and light online gaming/play.

I bought this laptop for my brother for Christmas. I am the tech geek in the family, and I was extremely happy with this device. No problems, whatsoever, minimum bloat-ware, and best of all, the design is flawless. The full keyboard really had me, and...

I had to update the motherboard BIOS to resolve a sleep issue where the screen wouldn't turn off

Hey Sorry Newegg people but they locked the Reviews for the ASUS PCI Tuner card I bought - ASUS My Cinema PHC3-150 (NTSC/ATSC/CLEAR QAM) ; So far the Total Media Software has been really great. It takes a SUPER long time to scan for CLEAR QAM channels...

Acer loves Gateway

If you contact Acer/Gateway within the first 30 or maybe 90 days and tell them the hard drive failed they will send you Restore CDs for free. Otherwise you will probably be eating 40 dollars down the road. However the computer also comes prepared to...

Gateway has a toll free number for technical support. Thats right they expected you to dial long distance for technical support. 1 866 447 0520 (Toll Free Baby)

Acer/Gateway really doesn't have any technical support. It should be called warranty support. The only thing they want to hear about is a hardware failure under warranty. If you want to connect something bluetooth or connect printer forget it. They...

Not bad at all for the money

I read on wiki that on March 19th 2010 Microsoft released an update to Microsoft Virtual PC which allows it to run on PCs without Hardware Virtualisation Technology (VT). However, I don't have have firsthand experience with this, though.

Price, 4Gb, nice sized hard drive. Wireless n in theory. USB ports. Looks nice ; HDMI port is great for watching movies

Mine came with Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit . However, I got the free upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit by mail. Still haven't installed it yet, though. Could it be because *gasp* Vista seems to work well enough on it? Nah, it couldn't be...

Junk.

This may be a fine laptop if you plan on only playing solitare, and NEVER installing any of your own programs on it. Do not buy this product. Absolutely terrible Harware / Software combination in regards to program compatability. If you're going to...

Wont stay operational long enough to really find any Pros

comes with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. Need at least Windows 7 Professional in order to be able to run "Windows XP Mode" through Virtual PC. Even if you upgrade the OS to Professional for an additional $90, still wont work, cause the T4400 processor...
