Dell XPS 15 2-in-1 review: Close to perfection

Dell XPS 15 2-in-1 review: A fantastic ultrabook or does it have too many issues to be a real flagship product? Here's our full review.

Excellent performance, even when gaming ; Solid build quality ; Fantastic keyboard ; Amazing screen

Very loud when running intensive processes ; Battery life could be better

One of the best 15-inch Windows 10 laptops money can buy.

Dell XPS 15 2-in-1 review

Debuting Dell's strongest 2-in-1 laptop ever

Impressively small chassis ; Latest Intel-AMD processor ; Brand new InfinityEdge display ; Interesting maglev keyboard

Keyboard feel gives us pause

After briefly testing Dell’s first 15-inch 2-in-1 laptop, we’re both impressed and left with questions in equal measure. It’s an undoubtedly powerful laptop in a form factor we’re far more accustomed to, but how will Dell’s new maglev keyboard turn...

Dell XPS 15 2-in-1

We review the Dell XPS 15 2-in-1, a big-screen convertible powered by the new 8th-gen Intel Core processor with built-in Radeon Vega graphics. We've spent some time testing out the slim tablet hybrid, so find out what we thought in our XPS 15 2-in-1...

Dell XPS 15 2-in-1 review

  (Rating Hidden)

We've tested the Dell XPS 15 laptop that was introduced back in 2017, but in 2018 Dell is introducing the world to a 2-in-1 tablet-laptop hybrid version. Does this updated model offer more than its predecessor? We run through this laptop's key features...

Dell XPS 15 2-in-1 review

Dell's XPS 15 2-in-1 looks like its predecessors, but it's all-new under the skin.

G-series chip provides great gaming performance ; Exceptional build quality and design ; One of the best laptop displays you can buy ; Quick storage and processing ; Good value for the hardware

New keyboard is passable, but not ; Lackluster battery life in 4K model ; Runs loud and hot

Dell XPS 15 2-in-1 9575 review: It might just be the fastest 2-in-1 in town

Dell's XPS 15 2-in-1 9575 is one of only two 8th-gen Kaby Lake G laptops ever made, and we're very sad about it. Whatever else you can say about its MagLev keyboard and USB-C exclusivity, it's impressively fast.

Core i5 performance that easily competes with most Core i7 laptops and 2-in-1s ; Thin, light and powerful

No USB-A Port ; MagLev keyboard has a short travel and can be noisy

Probably more polarizing than the port selection is the keyboard. Dell said keyboards are one of the primary items that make laptops thick. For the XPS 15 2-in-1, Dell employs a new-fangled “MagLev” keyboard, which combines butterfly-style switches...

Dell XPS 15 2-in-1 (9575)

Dogs and cats living together: Intel's "Kaby Lake-G" processor with AMD graphics powers the new convertible version of Dell's XPS 15 to performance as strong as its design is sleek.

Innovative CPU with discrete graphics. First-class 4K display. Two Thunderbolt 3 and two USB-C ports.

Heavy in Tablet mode. Keyboard takes a little getting used to. Noisy cooling fan. So-so battery life.

Bottom Line: Dogs and cats living together: Intel's "Kaby Lake-G" processor with AMD graphics powers the new convertible version of Dell's XPS 15 to performance as strong as its design is sleek.

Dell XPS 15 9575 (i7-8705G, Vega M GL, 4K UHD) Convertible Review

Higher price, same CPU performance. The Core i5 XPS 15 9575 impressed us in terms of raw performance and graphical prowess for such a thin convertible. The Core i7 SKU performs just as well, albeit at very marginal benefits. For better or worse, the...

more power efficient than the XPS 15 9560 and many competing alternatives ; active stylus and USB Type-C to Type-A adapter included at no extra charge ; comparable to Core i7-7700HQ and GTX 1050 in raw power ; cooler average surface temperature on...

no integrated USB Type-A, HDMI, RJ-45, SIM, NFC, mDP, or full-size card reader ; Core i7-8705G offers very little performance benefits over the Core i7-8305G ; smaller-than-expected gamut; strange color behavior on the 4K UHD panel ; moderately slow...

Current SKUs of the XPS 15 9560 include the Core i5-7300HQ and Core i7-7700HQ similar to how the current selection of XPS 15 9575 SKUs include the Core i5-8305G and Core i7-8705G. Whereas the jump from an i5-7300HQ to i7-7700HQ can bring a 40 percent...

Dell XPS 15 9575 2-in-1 review – high-end workstation convertible

When rumors began spreading that Intel was going to collaborate with AMD in the integration of Radeon graphics cards in its processors, it sounded more like a joke than a real project. However, it …

The world’s smallest and thinnest 15.6-inch 2-in-1 laptop;Fairly robust construction with aluminum, carbon, steel, and Gorilla Glass;High-end IPS screen;Very good audio system given the thickness of the model;Huge battery (75Wh), despite the small...
