Averatec 4200 AV4265-EH1 Review

Creamy-white laptop with midnight blue lid boasts just-right 13.3-inch widescreen.

Handsome case ; just-right screen size

Unimpressive battery life

Except for the outdated information regarding its two hot buttons, the AV4265-EH1's documentation (in the form of a preinstalled Acrobat manual) seems solid; it does a good job of walking users through upgrades, always a plus. But the contents page is...

Averatec 4200 AV4265-EH1AV4265

Unusual 13.3-inch wide screen sets this laptop apart.

This 13.3-inch wide screen offers striking looks and an appealing weight. I would wait until Averatec makes the AveraPlay media button fully functional again, though, before buying.

Averatec AV4265-EH1

The AveraBrite widescreen is bright and great for DVD movie watching. The full-size keyboard won't cramp your fingers, even when you're working on extensive papers or reports. The touchpad and mouse buttons are responsive, reminding us of those found...

Stylish. Lightweight. Vivid screen. Large hard drive

A workhorse the Averatec AV4265-EH1 is not, but a lightweight portable system that can handle day-to-day tasks with aplomb it most definitely is.

Averatec 4200 13" Widescreen Notebook

Who says a widescreen Centrino notebook with a bright, glassy display weighing less than 5 lbs. has to cost $2,000 or more? Averatec has a way of bringing notebooks to market that cost far less than competing brands. While Averatec's very first...

Wow, only $1,199 list price for a slick looking 13.3" widescreen notebook that weighs less than 5 pounds?! Not only that, Averatec didn't scrimp on the internals: the latest Centrino chipset, a 1.6 GHz Pentium M processor, 512 megs of RAM and a DVD...
