Asus Zenbook Prime UX31A review

Asus gives the Zenbook Ultrabook an Ivy Bridge chip and 1080p screen

Excellent screen ; Thin and light ; Good performance ; Decent connectivity

Poor battery life ; Could do with more RAM ; No larger SSD option ; Tinny speakers ; So very expensive

Asus Zenbook Prime UX31a

The term Ultrabook has become so loose now that just about everything which isn't made by Apple and is portable has the moniker slapped on it. The problem is that a lot of the kit released just doesn't cut it, with most being far from ultra. Quite a...

Great screen, top-notch build quality and design

Trackpad, bloatware, uncomfortable wrist rest

Quite a laptop then from Asus. We can’t think of a much better Ultrabook right now, particularly for those who are after a really top-quality screen. In fact, at £1499 it even makes a viable cheaper alternative to the more expensive MacBook Pro with...

Asus Zenbook Prime UX31A review

In addition to updating its UX31 Zenbook line with Ivy Bridge CPUs, Asus is trying to bring consistency to its touchpad pointing experience. Our review of the earlier Zenbook UX31E was mostly favourable, but we found that the touchpad wasn't optimal....

The Asus Zenbook UX31A represents an incremental evolution over the original UX31E, but the improvements are welcome. The Ivy Bridge CPU and high resolution panel finally realizes the potential of the sleek chassis. The touchpad is much improved,...

Asus Zenbook Prime UX31A review

A gorgeous Ultrabook with a superb Full-HD display and plenty of stamina, but the price is simply far too high

Put to the test with our X-Rite colorimeter, the Full HD display really delivers: the 1,032:1 contrast ratio and a maximum brightness of 424cd/m2 are as good as laptop displays get, and the average Delta E of 3.1 indicates outstanding colour...

ASUS Zenbook Prime UX31A Ultrabook review

Zenbook Prime UX31A: an Ultrabook with a superb screen, fast performance and much improved user comfort

Fast performance ; Stunning Full HD, IPS screen ; Respectable battery life ; Strong build quality

Touchpad can be a nuisance ; Ambient light sensor not great ; Space bar squeaked on our model

Excellent overall performance and a stunning screen are just two important features that the ASUS Zenbook UX31A brings to the table. It's thin, light, has a backlit keyboard and its battery life is impressive. It still isn't perfect, and our primary...

ASUS Zenbook Prime UX31A Touch review: new touchscreen, same solid performance

While Windows 8 inspired plenty of crazy new form factors, it also gave laptop makers a good reason to circle back and tweak their tried-and-true

Bright, responsive touchscreen ; Good performance ; Light, attractive design

Unimpressive battery life ; Price TBA, likely high

We already liked the ASUS Zenbook Prime UX31A, and the addition of a touchscreen only makes this high-end Ultrabook better. Still, it would benefit from longer battery life.

ASUS Zenbook Prime UX31A Ultrabook review: a high-res display, and a much-improved keyboard

ASUS' new UX31A improves upon its already-good Ultrabook with a higher-res IPS screen and Ivy Bridge power, but there's still room for improvement.

Great IPS displaySleek, lightweight designDecent battery life

Wonky touchpadSub-par audio

When ASUS first released the UX31E last fall, we found plenty to like in its striking design, high-quality display and brisk performance. The addition of backlighting and a more comfortable keyboard -- not to mention the step up to Ivy Bridge and Intel...

Asus Zenbook Prime Touch UX31A-BHI5T

With its brilliant, touch-enabled screen, incredibly thin design, and $1,100 price tag, the Asus Zenbook Prime Touch UX31A-BHI5T is the high-end ultrabook to beat.

Remarkably thin and lightweight. Gorgeous 1080p touch display with IPS panel. Very good battery life.

Limited storage space. Port selection is limited.
