Asus UL30A

Battery life of over 10 hours makes this 13.3in laptop a tempting proposition.

Superb battery life ; Good value ; Quiet

Drab design ; Slightly flimsy body ; Average viewing angles

It won't win any beauty pageants, but the Asus UL30A has it where it counts: value and battery life. A great keyboard, solid feature set and generous two-year warranty only further strengthen its credentials.

Asus UL30A review

One of the most portable laptops we have ever seen, but performance suffers

Fantastic battery life ; Decent storage ; Highly portable

No DVD drive ; Not very powerful

A brilliant laptop for those wanting to work away from the mains, but if power is your main consideration, this machine is a bit lacking

Asus UL30A-A1 (Core 2 Duo Su7300 1.3GHz review

Whether CULV thin-and-light laptops will ever fully find a spot between the Netbook world and the full-featured laptop world, they are most definitely a category that's growing every day. Dropping an optical drive and throwing a low-voltage processor...

Strong battery life; reasonable price; slim design.

Some keyboard flex; touchy touch pad; feels a bit cheap.

If you're in the market for an affordable thin-and-light, the Asus UL30A-A1 provides great value and a solid Core 2 Duo CULV processor in an attractive package.

Want a cheap ultra-light but can't settle for a netbook? Asus' UL30A could well be the laptop with you...

The best super-light laptop for the price, let down only by a blue cast to the screen

Asus UL30A review

Quite literally, it looks as though Asus cribbed notes from its own designs as well as the competition to come up with a decent pedigree. The Asus UL30A has all the marks of a laptop that makes a good showing - even though we haven't had a chance to...

All said and done, the Asus UL30A is a reasonably good package, but it is around £525. You might find yourself asking if you want to get something that might not run as long, but have more muscle (like, say, Dell's Studio 14z) or forgo a little bit of...

Asus UL30 notebook

The Asus UL30 notebook is liberating and well worth considering if you can get over the keyboard layout

Above-average build quality and finish; very quiet; 4GB memory; far better performance than a netbook

Keyboard layout; downward-facing speakers can be muffled; no built-in SIM slot for mobile broadband

The UL30 is nicely finished, feels robust, and performs well by ultraportable standards. If you can adapt to the keyboard layout, it's well worth considering.

Asus UL30A - Simple, cheap and efficient.

This time we have a little treat for you from Asus to warm up these cold days. The UL30A is Asus' newest take on a laptop aimed at the business and student segments in which mobility is key. Besides containing a 500GB hard drive, 4GB of RAM, a ULV...

Phenomenal battery life ; Multi-gesture touchpad ; Beautiful, thin and elegant design ; Windows 7 ; Good keyboard

Resolution in SplashTop OS ; No optical drive

The Asus UL30A is a computer made for the business and student segments, in part due to the long battery life as well as its small size, making it very mobile. The computer sports decent hardware like an Intel SU7300 processor, 500GB hard drive, 4GB of...

The Asus UL30 makes the most of Intel's new budget CPU to deliver a super-slim laptop that manages to cram in a 9-hour battery life, Intel Core 2 Duo SU2300 processor and 3GB of memory. The Windows 7 laptop has 13.3-inch LED widescreen display that...
