Asus Transformer Book Flip TP300LA review

A reasonably powerful and well-built machine with some flaws

Good build quality and it's aesthetically pleasing ; Powerful processor for the price ; Large 1TB hard drive

Relatively low resolution screen that isn't visible from all angles ; No SSD and a noisy hard drive ; Unreliable flip detection

Solid build construction and a powerful processor are let down by a lack of solid state storage, unreliable flip detection and a slightly dark screen.

Asus Transformer Book Flip TP300LA

Cheap, reasonably powerful and with great battery life, Asus' Transformer Book Flip seems to have it all

The Transformer Book Flip represents another promising outing from Broadwell: the balance of value, performance and battery life is excellent, with the Flip scoring a little above average on all counts. Build quality is generally good, too, although...

ASUS Notebook TP300LA

This is a Windows 8.1 notebook but it has an ability that most notebooks do not have, the screen can flip through 360degrees so not only is it a notebook but also a Tablet and because it's a Tablet then it also has touchscreen ability.

The ASUS TP300LA "Flip" measures 32x23x1.5cm and weights a tad under 1.8kilos. The left side has a Kensington Lock port, USB2 socket, SD Card port, volume rocker and on/off button. The front has three well marked LED’s. The right side has a 3.5mm...

Low performance from the Core i5-4210U and HD 4600 graphics

This novel convertible laptop is an intriguing way to deliver the best of both worlds at a low price.

Asus Transformer Book Flip TP300LA review

Even with a 360-hinge and and a low price point, this convertible laptop's most attention-worthy feature is its surprisingly swift performance. A bland, standard HD display arguably takes it off the table for designers, but there's plenty for others to...

Good build quality and performance, low price, range of ports, more storage than competing detachables

Windows 8.1 instead of Windows 10, poor display quality, lots of unwanted Asus software

Multimode MultimediaThe ASUS Transformer Book Flip TP300L we're testing here, the 13.3-inch version, has high-end Ultrabook-style specifications in a stylish convertible design. With Core i7, 8GB RAM Full HD touch and a discreet Nvidia GPU, this could...

Solid design, Better-than-Ultrabook graphics performance, High quality screen, Good value for the specifications

Average battery life, Heavier than many 13.3-inch laptops

The ASUS Transformer Book Flip TP300L was a pleasure to test and gave us no nasty surprises during the two-week review period. It looks good and, in this Core i7 build, has a great screen and performance. The keyboard was good, it's quiet and battery...

Asus Transformer Book Flip TP300 / TP300LA / Q302LA review

If you're after a convertible 13 inch ultrabook with Haswell hardware that checks most of the right boxes and starts at as little as $700, the Asus Transformer Book Flip TP300 should be on your list. It is however rather massive and heavy for a 13...

good looking and solid built, good keyboard, trackpad and screen, plenty of hardware configurations, upgrade friendly, convertible, fair price

bulky and heavy, prone to smudges and fingerprints, difficult to use in tablet mode, small touchpad

At the end of the day, there are plenty of reasons why this could be your next laptop. It looks alright and it is solid built, it offers a good keyboard, trackpad and touchscreen, it sports powerful hardware and lasts for quite a while on each charge....

Asus Transformer Book Flip TP300LA

Throughout my usage of this machine I have found myself very happy with the performance that it delivers for the price. This laptop/2-in-1 is capable of doing everything I wanted to do, plus more.

I have found that my only problem with the laptop comes down to mainly battery life, it is greatly decreased by using the machine in full capacity- though under minimum load it is acceptable.
