Asus ROG G752VS-XS74K OC Edition review

Gaming laptops are not known for being small and unassuming. High-performance components need room to stay cool, and gaming systems typically have aggressive-looking designs as a sign of what's inside. And that's precisely what you get with the Asus...

The Asus ROG G752VS OC Edition offers excellent gaming performance and plenty of power for other tasks like high-resolution photo- and video-editing. The screen's 120Hz refresh rate keeps games looking smooth as does Nvidia's G-Sync tech.

The laptop is big and heavy, with a shape that keeps it from fitting in normal 17-inch laptop bags. The touchpad is too unreliable for a $2,500 laptop. Missing the RGB keyboard found on the lower-end Asus Strix models.

The Asus ROG G752VS OC Edition not only looks the part of a gaming laptop, it has the insides to tackle whatever you throw at it. Too bad some of its other pieces don't match its price and performance.

Overclocked GTX 1070 graphics

This is a heavy laptop that weighs in at more than 4kg

Asus has delivered a winning laptop in G752VS and we count ourselves as impressed and slightly overawed.

Asus ROG G752VS OC Edition review: Bright lights, big performance, a bit disappointing

With Windows 10 Pro, a GTX 1070 GPU and an overclockable CPU and memory, this 17-inch behemoth has performance to spare, but a few caveats keep it from being an easy recommendation.

Asus ROG G752VS-XB78K Overclocked Edition

Thanks to Nvidia's latest Pascal-based graphics, the Asus ROG G752-XB78K laptop delivers desktop-level gaming performance.

Overclocked processor and graphics card deliver performance that rivals that of desktops. Plenty of ports. Lots of storage.

Heavy. Expensive. Keyboard flex is disappointing compared with that of predecessor.

Conclusion Aside from a quibble about keyboard flex and the $3,000 price, it's easy to recommend the Asus G752VS-XB78K for the dedicated gamer who can afford it. You get what you pay for, and it's hard to argue against performance that rivals what you...

Asus ROG G752VS-XB72K OC Edition review: Faster than most gaming PCs (including desktops)

Asus' mighty ROG G752VS-XB72K OC Edition packs a GTX 1070 laptop GPU with 8GB of memory and an overclockable quad-core CPU, signaling a new era of PC gaming.

Incredible gaming performance ; Comfortable keyboard ; Great connectivity and ports

Anemic audio ; 1 year warranty ; DVD drive

The G752VS is certainly impressive. It offers almost double the a level of gaming performance over previously available single-GPU notebooks, which is insane. It’s not a one-trick pony, either—both its quad-core CPU, DDR4 memory, and PCIe SSD are...

Asus ROG G752VS (7700HQ, GTX 1070, FHD) Laptop Review

Bulky. Asus equips the G752VS with a 120 Hz panel including Nvidia's G-Sync support. The powerful hardware equipment manages smooth frame rates in all modern games.

matte IPS screen ; G-Sync ; NVMe-SSD + HDD ; free M.2 slot ; USB 3.1 Gen.2 ; low temperature development ; moderate noise development

fans hard to access ; clearly visible backlight bleeding

The G752VS-BA338T is the Kaby Lake model from Asus' 17-inch gaming laptop series. The new Core i7-7700HQ processor is not much faster compared to the Skylake models. The Kaby Lake processor results in longer battery runtimes thanks to improved...

Asus ROG G752VS Notebook Review

Desktop replacement! The latest model of the ROG-series is supposed to be a big leap in terms of performance. Thanks to the brand-new and powerful Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 from the new Pascal lineup, the chances are not bad. This article will find out...

easy access to M.2 SSDs, 2.5-inch slot and RAM slots, viewing-angle stable IPS display with G-Sync, USB 3.1 Gen2 Type C with Thunderbolt 3, stabile, high-end chassis, low temperature increase, very good system performance, moderate system noise, fast...

soft-touch finish of the top side is a fingerprint magnet, difficult to get to the fans, quite short battery life, very high weight

The high-end notebook from Asus certainly does not have to hide behind the rivals, quite the contrary. Users of the Asus G752VS will get a lot of performance. The Pascal launch starts a new era for gaming notebooks and even clearly surpasses the...
