Asus Eee Pad Slider

First Look: We get hands on with Asus' second innovative tablet/laptop hybrid.

Perhaps crucially what you don't get is a touchpad, meaning you always have to use the touchscreen to navigate the system - something that can become a little tedious. Overall, we'd probably still prefer the laptop style form factor of the Transformer...

Asus Eee Slate EP121

This 12.1in Windows 7 tablet packs in both capacitive and Wacom pen touch-sensing, making for the ultimate portable doodling tool.

Large IPS screen with Gorilla glass ; Powerful and fast, excellent connectivity ; Capacitive or stylus interaction ; Windows 7 offers superb productivity potential ; Premium wireless keyboard

Very expensive ; Windows 7 not designed for touch or tablets ; Poor battery life ; No 3G ; Too large and heavy to hold one-handed

heavy at 1.17kg, but it's certainly not atablet you can hold comfortably one-handed for any length of time.

Asus Eee Pad Slider review

A slide-out keyboard on an Android tablet. Genius or total madness?

Glorious screen ; Keyboard is genuinely useful ; Android at its best ; Good preloaded apps

Big and heavy ; Some may find keyboard cramped ; Battery life a little disappointing

We were totally taken by the Eee Pad Transformer when it came out because it did something different to the iPad, and so gave itself room to breathe away from the tablet big guns.

Asus Eee Pad Slider review

With the Eee Pad Transformer, Asus built one of the best alt-iPad tablets money can buy. But its new Eee Pad Slider is an entirely different proposition and designed as a cross-over laptop and tablet for business and pleasure

Great for work and play ; Hidden keyboard ; Vibrant screen

Added bulk from board ; Board hard to type on ; No out of box Flash support

The Asus Eee Pad Slider is a good performer that is practicial and laden with solid multi-media specs. We not quite sure who would go and can buy one, but we do know they won't be disappointed.

Asus EEE PC 4G review

A stunning and cost-effective example of miniaturisation in action

Brimming with features ; Affordable ; Very easy to use

Lack of on-board storage ; Chassis can get quite hot at times

An excellent, ultra portable laptop offering value for money with no corners cut on spec or features

First Look: Asus Eee Slate EP121

Asus has launched a full blown Windows 7 PC that also just so happens to be a tablet, but can that tablet perform? We tracked it down at Asus' stand at CES to find out. Think of the Asus Eee Slate EP121 as a computer without a keyboard, rather than a...

Asus Eee Note

There's no doubt that ebook readers have become a hit, especially the Amazon Kindle , but most of the ebook readers are fairly limited as to what you can use them for beyond what they've been designed to do. Enter the Asus Eee Note, not an ebook...

Wi-Fi, useful features, digitiser screen, built-in and easy to use sync software

No backlight, the digitiser screen requires a stylus

The Asus Eee Note surprised us as being a much more versatile device than we expected. It’s not going to replace a smartphone, nor is it an iPad, but if you’re considering buying an ebook reader, we’d suggest that you take a closer look at the Asus Eee...

Asus Eee PC 4G

So how do you start a review of the best ultra-portable laptop in the world? With how this machine represents a huge shift in the world of portable PCs? Or how you can't believe there's so much crammed into a £220 machine?

Unfeasibly affordable, Feature-packed, Absolutely tiny

Resolution's too small to play FM...

Asus Eee Pad Slider review

The Slider isn't really a tablet, but it’s not a netbook either. It’s something else which just happens to use Android, and it’s great.

Asus Eee Windows review

Asus first released the low-cost, low-power Eee PC in the fall of 2007, winning rave reviews for the 7-inch $399 laptop, which cut overhead by using a tiny 4GB solid-state hard drive and a custom Linux operating system with preinstalled software such...

Small, light weight, and inexpensive; Windows XP for the same price as the Linux version.

Cramped keyboard; very little hard-drive space; low screen resolution; new ultramobile CPUs are coming soon.

The popular low-cost Asus Eee PC makes a play for mainstream acceptance, adding Windows XP to create an impressive package for portable Web surfing and basic productivity, making it a near-flawless choice for a highly portable second laptop.
