Andy Pad Pro review

It might have a funny name, but the 7in Andy Pad Pro is a smart choice

A smart choice if your budget beats the Kogan but can't stretch to a big-name buy

There are actually two Andy Pad tablets available, and this isthe more advanced and more expensive (by £50) of the pair. It's onsale now.

Solid build quality, low price

Older Android OS, no access to Android Market, poor qualitycameras

The Andy Pad Pro isn't intended as a high-end rival tothe like of the iPad 2, but as a few-frills, fun and relativelycheap tablet, it's got quite a lot going for it. But if you can getby with a lower quality screen, the basic Andy Pad is more of abargain.

Picture the scene: you're checking your emails on a shiny new device (worth two months pay) and from nowhere, a greasy-fingered infant is screaming at you to play. Reluctantly, you pass it over, watching your own hands cup the air beneath any potential...

Aggressively priced ; Excellent display ; (Mostly) fast performance

Cheap build quality ; Doesn't run Honeycomb ; Some bad design decisions

Norwich-based tablet company Verticool thinks it can take on the big boys with a bargain-price 7-inch tablet. It's half the price, but half-price comes with compromises.
