Alienware Area-51 Threadripper Edition

The Alienware Area-51 deploys a 16-core AMD Threadripper CPU – but is it any good?. Alienware Area-51 Threadripper Edition.

Outlandish, eye-catching design ; Rock-solid build quality ; Powerful 16-core Threadripper processor ; Two Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti graphics cards

Ugly interior that lacks versatility ; Other machines will be faster in almost every scenario ; Loud when components are stressed ; Underwhelming motherboard ; Far more expensive than rivals

The latest Alienware looks the part, but it’s disappointing in virtually every department. If you truly need a Threadripper CPU, you’d be better off shopping around.

Alienware Area-51 M5700

Powerful gaming abilities to rival desktops but packaged in a surprisingly portable unit.

Its performance on games was phenomenal for a notebook computer.

In spite of the slick looks, generally well thought out external ports and decent connectivity options, there are a couple of areas where the M5700 falls down.

Alienware - Area-51 m5700

The recently introduced m5700 is the smaller (3.6kg) sibling of Alienware's monster m7700 desktop replacement notebook, although making a laptop that weighs less than 5.4kg isn't exactly the most challenging concept for a notebook manufacturer. This ...

More subdued to look at than some of its siblings, the Area-51 m5700 is a highly specified but expensive mobile gaming platform which is just about light enough to carry around.
