Acer Spin 5 (2020) review

The Acer Spin 5 is a fantastic 2-in-1 laptop.

Fantastic battery life ; Powerful 10th-Gen Intel CPU ; Highly portable ; 3:2 display perfect for note-taking ; Feature rich stylus included

3:2 display not ideal for 16:9 video ; Bloatware includes desktop pop-up ads ; Gaming isn't great ; Sound is so-so

With its tall 3:2 display, ultralight body and great features, you should add the Spin 5 to your shortlist.

Acer Spin 5 (2018) review

  (Rating Hidden)

The Acer Spin 5 is a foldable laptop that can double as a tablet of sorts, when the screen is rotated flat. With the latest 8th-generation Intel i5 processor and a healthy 8GB of Ram, we'd expect it to be fairly laptop, but can this flexible laptop...

Acer Spin 5 review

  (Rating Hidden)

Ultrabooks don't come cheap, but the 13-inch Acer Spin 5 is one of the most affordable. It runs off a seventh-generation Intel core processor and a solid-state drive for extra speed. Plus, you can rotate the touchscreen to use it like a tablet. We've...

Acer Spin 5 review

Solid build quality ; Excellent performance ; Good productivity battery life ; Comfortable keyboard

The display is dim, with below-average contrast ; Bezels are way too big ; SATA SSD is a relatively poor performer

Acer perfectly positioned the Spin 5 in the midrange convertible 2-in-1 niche. It’s attractively priced, well-built, and it provides solid performance and good battery life. Input options are very good, and it tosses Alexa support into the mix. Only a...

Acer Spin 5 Review: Solid 2-in-1 With an OLED Omission

Competing models only slightly more expensive boast OLED displays. But if that's not a must-have for you, the Spin 5 is a reliably good, lightweight convertible.

Strong overall performance ; 1080p webcam ; Comfortable keyboard ; Active pen included

IPS display can't compete with OLED ; Ordinary appearance ; So-so battery life

Acer Spin 5 (SP513-52N-58WW)

Acer's 13.3-inch Spin 5 is a competent, albeit generic, choice for a convertible laptop. Battery life is its best feature; a few extra ounces are its worst.

Attractive aluminum design. Plenty of ports. Impressive battery life.

Half-an-inch too big. Half-a-pound overweight. No Windows Hello support.

Bottom Line: Acer's 13.3-inch Spin 5 is a competent, albeit generic, choice for a convertible laptop. Battery life is its best feature; a few extra ounces are its worst.
