Acer Nitro V15 Review

The Acer Nitro V15 is an underpowered gaming laptop, offering middling performance overall, as well as a disappointing Full HD display.

Decent battery life ; Fantastic port selection ; Comfortable keyboard

Dim display ; RTX 2050 is underpowered ; Some bloatware installed

The Acer Nitro V15 is an underpowered gaming laptop for 2024, offering middling performance overall, as well as a disappointing Full HD display. It at least comes with an excellent port selection and solid battery life, although is far from a sensible...

Acer Nitro V 15 review: An ultra-affordable gaming laptop

Acer's cost-cutting measures are apparent in its specification. The laptop chooses Intel's Core i5-13420H, an eight-core processor that sits near the bottom of Intel's H-Series line-up, and cuts memory to a meager 8GB.

Good build quality for the price Solid game performance Plenty of connectivity

Cuts corners on processor, RAM Display quality is just ok Short battery life

Acer’s Nitro V 15 cuts a few corners but delivers solid PC gaming performance at a very low price.

Acer Nitro V 15 (ANV15-41) review – Budget, Capable, and Noisy

If you are on the hunt for a gaming laptop on a budget, you have a good amount of options to consider. The Acer Nitro V 15 (ANV15-41) is a plastic machine with decent build quality for its class. Also, you can open the lid with a single hand and the...

Good performance for the class ; Decent build quality ; 2x M.2 slots, 2x DDR5 RAM SODIMMs + Wi-Fi 6 ; 165Hz refresh rate and wide viewing angles (AUOE2A7) ; PWM-free (AUOE2A7) ; 97% sRGB coverage alongside accurate colors with our “Design and Gaming”...

All-plastic build ; Loud fans in CPU-intensive tasks ; One of the M.2 slots is for Gen 3 SSDs ; 92°C CPU temperature in long loads ; The SSD also gets hot during benchmarking

Acer Nitro V 16 (ANV16-41) review – This One Could Be One of the Best Budget Laptops in 2024

The Acer Nitro V 16 (ANV16-41) has the potential to be a blockbuster in the budget category. It has a good cooling solution that allows high CPU and GPU clocks under load. At the same time, the fans aren't too noisy. The upgradability is great – two...

2x M.2 Gen 4 slots + 2x DDR5 RAM SODIMMs ; Covers 100% of the sRGB color gamut and has accurate color representation with our “Design and Gaming” profile (AUO80AD) ; Fast panel with quick response times and 165Hz refresh rate (AUO80AD) ; No PWM...

The lid could be more stable ; Plastic build

Acer Nitro V 15 review: Middling hardware ruined by overbearing software

The Acer Nitro V 15 is not great for many reasons. It's loud, often slow, and limited by its NitroSense software. Although this budget laptop delivers good gaming performance, so do some of the best gaming laptops around the same price.

Compact design DLSS boosts gaming performance Special key for turning off touchpad

Loud fans Restrictive software Hibernate is necessary to save power Very low color gamut Not great for tasks outside of web surfing and gaming

With an RTX 4050 onboard and an enticing price of $1,000, the Acer Nitro V 15 is tempting. Yet, with lackluster general performance, a so-so display, and unwanted bloatware, it's clear that there are better options available. Despite the above-average...
