For less than $900, this 17.3-inch version of Acer's Nitro 5 bargain gaming rig plays top games at top quality settings at close to 60fps. Its screen is merely adequate, but the laptop as a whole is a great value.
Solid 1080p gaming and a giant display at a low price. Room for storage expansion. Decent webcam.
Lackluster screen. No SD card slot or Thunderbolt 3 port. Hard-to-read keyboard.
Bottom Line: For less than $900, this 17.3-inch version of Acer's Nitro 5 bargain gaming rig plays top games at top quality settings at close to 60fps. Its screen is merely adequate, but the laptop as a whole is a great value.

Acer's Nitro 5 may age quickly with its entry-level hardware, but it's a great option for budget-minded buyers who enjoy light gaming and wouldn't mind upgrading in a few years.
Excellent keyboard ; Inexpensive ; Great battery life
Awkward shape ; Low-level performance ; Dim screen
Honestly the only aspect of the Nitro 5 that gives me pause is longevity. Look at that benchmark again: The GTX 1650 struggles with a four-year-old game. You’re definitely not going to max out most of 2019’s biggest releases, and it’s only going to get...

The Acer Nitro 5 is a budget gaming laptop that makes strategic concessions
Attractive black-and-red design ; Great VR score ; Wallet-friendly value ; Competition-beating frame rates ; Decent battery life for a gaming laptop
Awful keyboard ; Cheap build quality ; Dim display
The Acer Nitro 5 is a budget gaming laptop that makes strategic concessions to make room for the Nvidia RTX 2060 GPU.

Acer's Nitro 5 series has just expanded with one more device and guess what – it is powered by AMD once again. The company replaced the old 28nm AMD FX-9830P APU, which requires 45W of …

Having played World Of Warcraft for 15 years on various devices I can confirm this is by far the best !! My son had a WOW set up as a PC that he paid £2000 for and this laptop outperforms his set up easily . With the settings on the highest I still get...

Nice design and decent price. Runs the games my daughter wants but we know it's limitations. Overall a good purchase
Better memory and processor but then the price would go up

I most just use it for small games and personal work and it's a great laptop, the battery only really lasts a couple of hours though
Only that the battery life could be a bit better
