Acer Aspire S7 13-inch

A striking ultraportable made from metal & glass, with a glorious 1080p IPS touch-screen.

Beautifully designed, super-slim ; Superb Full HD touch screen ; Good connectivity

Noisy ; Poor battery life ; Sharp edges and awkward to open

Unfortunately there are some minor physical issues with the design. The laptop’s smooth base can slip off your lap if you’re wearing trousers made of a smooth material. The sharp edges of the chassis don’t just look edgy but can be a tad too much so...

Acer Aspire S7 review

A fashion forward Ultrabook

Attractive glass design ; High-end hardware configuration ; Full-day battery life

Screen limited to 1080p ; Too much bloatware

Remove the bloatware and you'll get a powerful notebook in a slim and modern design that will add a lot of visual appeal to your desk.

Acer Aspire S7 – Review

A few years ago I thought that to have a small lightweight easily transportable device you would have to get an iPad or an Android Tablet. Or get cross with a Netbook or break the bank and get a fancy Ultrabook. I settled for an Android Tablet a while...

The Acer Aspire S7 is a great device, it really showcases what Windows 8 is really about. Therein lies the problem, with a totally touch optimised interface you’d absolutely love the S7, for me the split personality of Windows 8 detracts from the...

Acer Aspire S7 Ultrabook review

The Acer Aspire S7 Ultrabook makes a sexy first impression

The S7 is a bit of this and a bit of that. The aesthetics, full HD display, and fast performance are serious contenders for your cash, but much like the pre-installed McAfee Internet Security Suite trial that’s almost impossible to get rid of without...

Acer Aspire S7 Ultrabook

The Acer Aspire S7 Ultrabook is one of a new breed of Windows 8-powered super thin laptops aimed at stealing market share away from Apple and its MacBook Air line. It's got the specs to impress: a 13-inch HD screen, a waif-like 11.9mm profile, super...

The Acer Aspire S7 has lots going for it: Windows 8 on a touchscreen works a treat, and its design is all its own. But in a world where a similarly sized MacBook Air costs as little as £850, there seems little point in bothering with rivals priced well...

Acer Aspire S7 review (13-inch): great Ultrabook, a shame about the battery life

Back in June, when Acer first announced the Aspire S7 Series, two things seemed noteworthy: these were the company's first touchscreen Ultrabooks, for

Stunning 1080p IPS display ; Nice build materials ; Thin and light, even for an Ultrabook ; Very fast performance ; Adapters, mouse and case included

Short battery life ; Loud fan noise ; Finicky trackpad

The S7 is Acer's best Ultrabook yet, but it suffers from loud fan noise and notably short battery life.

Acer Aspire S7-393-7451

The Acer Aspire S7-393-7451 is a sleek and lightweight ultraportable laptop, but it's held back by a load of preinstalled software and a limited selection of ports.

Slim, lightweight design. Gorilla Glass lid. Full HD touch screen. Intel Core i7-5500U processor.

Very few ports. Lots of preinstalled software.

Conclusion The Acer Aspire S7-393-7451 is in many ways just as impressive as when it was first announced, with a delightfully slim and light chassis, the distinctive design of its Gorilla-Glass-covered lid, and decent performance and great battery...

Acer Aspire S7: A premium touch-screen Windows 8 experience

This was one of the first Windows 8 laptops we profiled; now read the full review.

The ; is a premium-looking ultrabook, with great performance, strong battery life, and a high-res touch screen.

The expensive S7 is priced well beyond most other touch-screen Windows 8 laptops. The touch pad is not as responsive as it should be.

One of the few standout products from the first wave of Windows 8 laptops, the Acer Aspire S7 proves that Apple does not have a monopoly on great design.

Acer Aspire S7 and Dell XPS 12 review: battle of the transforming 1080p touchscreen ultrabooks

The Dell XPS 12 and Acer Aspire S7 aren't your average laptops. They're premium, and unique. One is a razor-thin, Gorilla Glass-infused attempt to transform Acer's reputation, the other Dell's...

Beautiful, solid chassis ; Great 1080p touchscreen display ; Decent keyboard and touchpad

Three hour battery life ; Truly awful speakers ; Can't upgrade past 4GB of RAM

More likely to appear on the boss' desk than in your backpack
