The Acer Aspire 9300-5005 desktop replacement laptop sports a beautiful 17-inch screen and a low price tag, but second-rate components make it best for someone with modest multimedia needs.

17-inch screen for $1,000. Built-in number pad. Webcam on top of the screen.
