Acer Aspire 5750

With Acer's latest 15.6in budget laptop, you get a lot for your money. If you can live with its flaws, it's a great buy.

Excellent value, Matt, textured finish, Core i5, USB 3.0 and HD webcam, Decent speakers

Poor screen, No SDXC support, Small, slow hard drive

A budget laptop that belies its meagre price tag

Decent performance ; Clear and bright screen ; Decent build quality

Poor quality speakers ; Some minor flex in chassis ; No gaming chops ; Battery life

A performance marvel that's great value too

Sandy Bridge ; Dedicated graphics ; Long battery life ; Vibrant screen ; Tons of storage

Plastic build ; Reflective screen

We've seen Sandy Bridge laptops emerge from almost every major manufacturer since Intel unveiled its second generation processor earlier this year. While these laptops have differed wildly in look and size, from the tiny Samsung 9000S to the hulking...

Acer Aspire 5750G

Inside the textured blue case of the Acer Aspire 5750G is an interesting mix of new technology (the second generation Core i7 processor and the new Nvidia GeForce GT540M), multimedia features - and the odd compromise to keep the price down, which make...

A powerful processor and decent battery life in a stylish package

Only one USB 3 port and a slightly disappointing screen, plus a last-generation touchpad

If you don't want to pay a high price for a high-end processor like the Sandy Bridge Core i7, the Aspire 5750G is a way to get the performance and reasonable battery life, without breaking the budget. You're not paying for unusually fancy design...

Acer Aspire 5750G Review

The Acer Aspire 5750G is a 15.6in laptop designed for home use and it represents good value for money.

With a three-digit price tag and a 2nd Gen Core i5 CPU, the Aspire 5750G represents good value for money. It does have some drawbacks, such as a glossy screen and it could use a better keyboard and touchpad, but overall it's a nice laptop that would...

Acer Aspire 5750G

This is probably the most powerful notebook that I have ever used. A look at the Windows Experience index will show that. If you are looking for a powerful notebook then this should certainly be on a very short list of items.

Acer Aspire 5750G review

Hardly stylish, but strong in applications and games, and lasts six hours on one charge - the ideal all-round low-cost laptop

This Acer doesn't have the fastest processor, and it's battery life isn't quite as good as the very best we've seen. But, for just £430, we'd gladly swap finesse and a little stamina for an almost perfect all-rounder. It isn't flashy in the slightest,...

Review Acer Aspire 5750G Notebook

Hello, and good bye again. Intel's Sandy Bridge CPUs were slowly

Attractive, compact case; Mostly matt, resistant surfaces; Very good application performance; Good 3D, gaming performance; Acceptable soundscape; Optimized power consumption with Nvidia Optimus; Good battery life in operation without load

Unfavorable port positioning; Unusual keyboard; Intensely reflective display; High heat development possible; Moderate sound quality

The benefits of Sandy Bridge paired with Optimus seem steep. The balancing act of performance and low power consumption is likely only matched by similar configurations. For example: Asus N53SV or the larger Acer Aspire 7750G with HD 6650 GPU.
