Acer Aspire 5 (A517-51G-8433)

The Acer Aspire 5 laptop offers a bright 17.3-inch screen, optical drive, and good array of parts and ports for a grand. It'll satisfy DVD watchers and glasses wearers.

Big, bright 1080p display. DVD player onboard. Decent battery life.

No backlit keyboard, Windows Hello, or Thunderbolt 3. Hard-to-find Delete key.

Bottom Line: The Acer Aspire 5 laptop offers a bright 17.3-inch screen, optical drive, and good array of parts and ports for a grand. It'll satisfy DVD watchers and glasses wearers.

Do not buy

Be warned the product information is incorrect. The resolution is not full HD (1900x1020) as described but is in fact the much cheaper 1600 x 900.

Fast and reliable

Perfect for streaming, apps and getting work done. Shouldn't be used for gaming however can run certain high end games such as Fortnite which is a plus.

Good Laptop

I bought this to help with my Masters, has all the features that I require, runs quickly and looks nice. Excellent processing systems and also has a CD drive, which is no longer standard. Would recommend

Fantastic
