You'll notice right away just how large the Apex is. The palm rest isn't an optional accessory as it is with many other keyboards, so it comes out of the box in one large unit. The length is also exaggerated by the many macro and media keys on either...
The SteelSeries Apex was made with gaming enthusiasts in mind, from the flashy customizable colours and macro keys to the addition of diagonal directional keys to minimize key presses. Once you've got your fancy new gaming rig, you'll want a keyboard...

First I want to thank Steelseries for providing me with their new Apex Gaming keyboard, its a really nice keyboard with illuminated keys you can customize how you want to. This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. Learn how your comment data is processed .
When I first saw the apex i had something like this is one of the most beautiful keyboards I’ve ever seen!

For a non-mechanical keyboard the Steelseries Apex works really well and is supported by some excellent intuitive software which made the process of adding macros or adjusting the various lighting effects a dream.

Today I get the chance to review Steelseries' latest rubber dome keyboard: the APEX - jam packed full of features. Read on to discover how it performed!

A flashy and comprehensive keyboard that's well suited to gaming
Practical layout and implementation of macros keys ; Great additions such as multi-zone illumination and oversized space bar
Integrated wrist rest leaves no room for adjustment ; A bit pricey for a membrane-based keyboard
The SteelSeries Apex does a good job of securing its place as a premium, membrane-based keyboard. While the design and illumination is compelling, it may be tempting to pay a bit more to get a mechanical keyboard instead.

This could've been the apex of compact gaming keyboards, but it has a few too many flaws and a high price.
Compact layout. Snappy and responsive switches. Fully programmable. Simple and clean design.
High price. Plastic case. Mediocre typing experience. Wired connection only. Some software troubles. 1-kHz polling rate is fast but not competitive.

A solid aluminum chassis, comfortable custom key switches, and a nifty OLED mini-display set apart SteelSeries' Apex 7 TKL, our favorite tenkeyless gaming keyboard to date.

The SteelSeries Apex is a big keyboard that is packed with features to take your game to a new level, all for a more affordable price than the competition.

After the hype from Corsair's K70 RGB since its announcement early this year, mechanical RGB keyboards became all the rage. Several companies even managed to beat Corsair to the punch and release an RGB mechanical keyboard first, such as the tenkeyless...
And these are only the mechanical keyboards that threaten the SteelSeries Apex; there are even more membrane keyboard at lower prices (too many to effectively list). They do not have the number of extra keys or the RGB backlighting that the Apex does,...
