Gaming in the dark adds to the atmosphere but the idea comes a cropper if you can't see the keyboard. Saitek's backlit Eclipse solves the problem in style.
Pleasingly though, Saitek isn’t charging a fortune and CCL Online, who kindly sent this sample for review are offering it for only £33.10. So simply then, this makes the Eclipse my favourite keyboard I've yet used, as a fixture on my home PC. It’s...

Founded in 1979, Saitek entered the gaming market in 1993 and since then has grown to become a major brand in gaming peripherals for the PC. All their products are designed by gamers for gamers, to help them get the best out of their favorite PC games,...
After using the Eclipse II for a good few weeks now I wouldn't swap it back with my old one, not only does it have the looks and stylish design to it but also because of the solid construction, sturdy feel and is the most comfortable keyboard I've used...

Hello and welcome to another Xtreme review today we are going to be reviewing the Saitek Eclipse keyboard but before we do let us tell you a little about Saitek themselves, well Saitek where founded in 1979 and started making chess computers all the...

It's taken us a while to get our hands on Saitek's Eclipse II backlit keyboard. It was originally announced at E3 this year, and we're only now getting some hands-on time with it. The design hasn't changed that much since the original Eclipse board ;...
Lower price compared to that of other backlit keyboards; three LED color options; easy setup.
No additional keys or customization software; keys feel cramped and mushy; not as fully featured as the competition.
If all you want is a backlit keyboard, Saitek's Eclipse II does that very well. We wish that Saitek had also refined the key feel and added a few other features. Aside from lighting up, it doesn't offer gamers much to get excited about.

Saitek Eclipse II reviewed by ConsumerSearch, which notes pros and cons, along with reviews and ratings for the Saitek Eclipse II and comparisons to other Keyboards
Adjustable backlit keys; Solidly constructed, weighted base; Comfortable, functional layout; Nice key feel
Expensive; No programmable keys

Because the lettering on the keys is transparent, the backlight shines through them, which means you can use the keyboard in total darkness.
Cool backlit keyboard makes your work space feel like a spaceship
Co-workers might think you're a bit “out there,” but who cares

The Saitek Eclipse II Gaming Keyboard is a very well built, back-light keyboard without a lot of fancy extras. You will not find any head phone jacks or USB ports and it also lacks programmable buttons and therefore any software to program them. So...
Great choice of lighting, Very good build quality, Silent keys, Just a tad bigger than usual keyboards, Good adjustable size and height., Solid grip on surface, Back-light looks great for LAN parties
No headphone/speaker or USB plugs for LAN party use, Angle of light makes it hard to read with the back-light, No CD or special programmable buttons., Manual not the easiest read

I have always loved the feel of the Eclipse Keyboards I've reviewed over the years. Quiet, responsive keys – the layout is always comfortable, I can't find much that I don't like. My only beef with this product would be the amount of light put out....
