OCZ Elixir Keyboard Review

Our test of the Elixir, the first gaming keyboard to come out of OCZ's Alchemy line.

Rubberized keys allow for pleasant typing and gaming ; Spare set of mostly used keys during gaming ; Multimedia and internet keys free some macro keys for other functions ; Relatively inexpensive for a gaming keyboard

No backlit feature ; No spare USB ports ; Weird key layout

OCZ Alchemy Elixir Gaming Keyboard

Comfortable to use ; Easily affordable ; Attractive, aggressive styling

No backlighting ; Physically larger than some other keyboards

The included software offers an easy way to set up and create different macros and profiles. The software also works on either Windows XP or Vista, for both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. Once installed, just run the program to bring up a GUI that allows...

OCZ Alchemy Series Elixir Keyboard Review

Keyboards come in various shapes, sizes, colors and even configurations, the type you want or need willdepend on your own needs or preferences. Some keyboards can be wiredor wireless and they can get to be very costly, so it's nice to comeacross a...

Very configurable ; Easy to use and install ; Comfortable to type on ; Seems well made ; Extra keys included ; Inexpensive

Can't lock or disable keys ; Can't configure all buttons

The OCZ Elixir keyboard might bebudget priced but it can easily hold it's own against keyboards thatcost two to three times as much and even has more features than someof those more expensive keyboards do.

Decent Keyboard. Not Gaming Worthy.

Very comfortable ; Stylish ; Plentiful Binding Keys ; Comes with great software and replaceable keys ; Easy to clean

No Ctrl+Spacebar jumping in games such as Counter Strike, Half Life, etc ; Bind-able keys are far too close to keys that are used by gamers causing unwanted errors ; Most of the miscellaneous buttons along the side and top are useless

Good Keyboard

I have been using this keyboard for about a year and now I see a lot of reviews saying this is a bad keyboard, but in short, this is a good keyboard if you are not accustomed to G15s and other $50+ keyboards. I do not regret buying this.

This keyboard is a good budget alternative to the more expensive keyboards with the same features. The function keys on the left and right are a nice luxury on start up. I keep fewer shortcuts on my desktop because of this feature and it makes tasks...

You might want to call this a gaming keyboard, but its really more of a flashy multimedia keyboard because of the problems when pressing multiple keys at the same time. Also, because the keys might not be as sensitive as some would like

Not my cup o keys

Should have spent a few more bucks on a razor or a saitek!!!

Fancy keyboard for general use!! Not really a pro since I purchased this keyboard for gaming and it didn't deliver

My old cheap Microsoft keyboard is better for gaming?? In the middle of playing Bf2142 this keyboard kept minimizing the game. Also it does not support the key combinations needed for gaming.. Calling this a GAMING keyboard makes no sense. Also the...

Comfortable and large

It's a good design and very comfortable. The key press is light and the fact there is little space around the keys means that they are far easier to clean and keep clean. The larger delete key is something to learn to accustom oneself to, but once that...

Large sized, it is stable, doesn't move on you, is comfortable to type with and use in FPS, or online games. The extra buttons are helpful to assign binds and allow mouse and number pad use. I especially love where the media keys are for volume and...

The assignable keys are not perfect. There are some issues with assigning f-keys and having them replicate them reliably
