HyperX Alloy Elite 2 Gaming Keyboard Review: Fearless Design

Two-toned pudding keycaps go a long way.

USB passthrough ; Steel top plate ; Pudding keycaps ; Responsive linear switches

Attracts fingerprint smudges ; Not significantly different than prior version ; No extra keycaps like prior version ; Wide keycaps can tire fingers

The HyperX Alloy Elite 2 has the bold looks gamers deserve. Its linear switches and premium keycaps are allies on the battlefield, but the broad keycaps may tire your fingers.

HyperX Alloy Elite 2 Review

Sleek look ; HyperX Red mechanical switches ; Durable "pudding" keycaps ; USB pass-through ; Dedicated media buttons and volume roller

No wrist rest ; No dedicated macro keys ; Ngenuity software is improved but could use slightly better menu organization

HyperX put its own key switches in the Alloy Elite 2, and the keyboard's better for it, but this solid mechanical model needs a set-apart feature, beyond its spiffy two-layer keycaps, to merit true "Elite" status.

HYPERX Alloy Elite 2 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

It's kitted out with the Cherry MX Red Linear keys that are a dream to type on. Best keyboard I've ever used. If you are into LEDs, then this is the out of this world with the pudding basin keys and super bright LEDs. The build quality is exceptional...

Nothing.....

HYPERX Alloy Elite 2 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

Feels sturdy and has a very good weight of both the physical product and the individual keys.

I wish the wire for the keyboard had been a little bit longer.

HYPERX Alloy Elite 2 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

Great design, all the features you need in a few more you’d want in a streamline, easy to use, performance driven product. Not to mention it’s easily the best looking keyboard on the market.

Not really something to be improved, but be aware of your USB ports if purchasing as the USB pass through feature means the keyboard needs two ports on your PC.
