Built like the proverbial brick out house, this is the epitome of a gaming tool.
Another comfort issue comes from the fact that this has a completely conventional keyboard layout. Having used for the last year or so at work a Microsoft Natural Ergonomic 4000 keyboard, I've become used to its more natural wrist position and large...

The SteelSeries 7G is practically the same keyboard as the 6Gv2. The additional $50 you pay for the SteelSeries 7G gets you extra features (two USB ports and an audio passthrough jack), and a detachable hard plastic wrist-rest.
The SteelSeries 7G is practically the same keyboard as the 6Gv2.

Brilliant Build Quality, Strong mechanical feel, Striking, but simple & reserved look, Long lifetime (50,000,000 taps), Useful media keys via function keys, Nicely shaped wrist rest

A rugged keyboard designed to stand the test of time
Keys are comfortable to use and well suited for gaming ; Robust, no nonsense industrial design that is also stylish
No retractable feet and high design means that wrist rest is mandatory ; No Windows key or dedicated media buttons, or features such as coloured LEDs
The SteelSeries 7G is a high quality keyboard that is comfortable to use. Considering the price, it would have been nice to see more features on it.

A few minor flaws aside, the SteelSeries 7G is a truly spectacular piece of hardware.
We couldn’t lock this keyboard up. Great action on a classic keyboard layout
Barebones. Very loud. Extremely expensive. USB ports only support 1.1 speeds
We should also mention that this is one of the loudest keyboards we’ve tested in recent memory. Although SteelSeries describes the 7G’s keys as no-click, they’re certainly not quiet. The other thing we need to touch on is the 7G’s price -- this is an...

Sitting at the top of the SteelSeries pyramid is the 7G. We find out what makes the 7G special when compared to the competition.

The cherry of my fingers.
Cherry MX keys, superb typing experience, sturdy, Gold plated switches, audio ports
expensive, no macro keys
As such, I believe the Steelseries 7G is specifically targeted towards ‘pro-gamers’, those who are into extreme competitive gaming and are in need of a compact, no fuss keyboard that will allow them to issue commands at blistering speeds, no questions...
