This is a fantastic steam iron, with very little to grumble about. If anything is to be criticised about the GC7420/02, it might be that the water tank will need to be regularly refilled, as the high pressure steam function does use up water quickly....

Reached correct temperature on all dot settings. Quick to reach correct pressure for steaming. Removed creases well and glided smoothly

Slow at reaching temperatures on each dot setting. Steam function could not be used on each dot setting. Steam setting is not variable. Slightly too light

I now love to iron - how sad! This is the first time that I have used this type of iron and I am so impressed. I do wonder though, if this one is this good - how good are the very expensive ones ...

I cannot really think of a bad point - the only irritating thing is that it is a bit noisy, but it grows on you !

There is no need to pay for extra filters as you rinse the base instead. The amount of steam means you can iron without touching the fabric sometimes.

There is an occasional loud pumping noise . As with most steam generator irons it is slightly heavy, possibly slightly heavier than my last iron.

excellent steam outpu,t removes creases easily, speeds ironing time

cord between iron and tank is stiff and sometimes gets in the way. my last unit only lasted 2 years as the pump that relays the steam failed, however most of my irons dont last very long!
