The head of the Philips GC8520 is slightly smaller than previous models, which may be a point to consider if you will be ironing large items like sheets, but this is the only minor issue in an otherwise great piece of ironing equipment.

Easy to use. Works well. Good sole plate and lightweight compared to a standard steam iron.

Unclear as to what water to use in hard water areas. No mention is made that deionised water is unsuitable and distilled water is not readily available or economic to use in the quantity required.

Good level if steam for cottons but also good to lightly steam delicates

Smaller size than previous Philips iron,so takes abit longer to cover surfaces.

Very easy to use and does not need to refill often.Have bought several steam generators from high range to low and this does the job and is good value for money .

The iron heats up quickly however you need to work out your own temperatures for your clothes as the low heat was too hot for some of the delicates and wool articles.

Very good product, water lasts a long time before needing refilling.
