Slim Devices Squeezebox 3 review

Liberate music from the confines of your PC and enjoy brilliant sound

Plays just about every file format ; sounds wonderful in the right system ; upgrade option via an off-board DAC ; easy to use and set up

It helps to be fairly network-savvy to set it up ; you’ll need to be a bit crafty to play tracks downloaded from the iTunes store

This is a great product for sending music from computer to hi-fi

Slim DevicesSqueezebox 3

The Squeezebox 3 is a lusciously curving model sporting a rather fetching black and silver outfit and operating via Ethernet or wireless, and happy with PC or Mac

Luscious design. PC and Mac friendly. Quick to load up with tunes. Decent speakers and sound.

Set-up takes longer than it should.

Stream music to anywhere in your house with a tiny box handling all the hard work.

Note: Slim Devices released a beta version of its SlimServer software on June 7, 2006 that does include support for Rhapsody. Interested Squeezebox users should download Vers. 6.3.0 or later from here.

Good looking and easy to use, the Squeezebox is also well featured. The only downside is the price.

The Benchmark Media DAC1 my Dad and I both use has become popular with hi-fi listeners because it happens to work well, particularly for the price. DACs that perform as well as this in subjective comparisons typically cost three, four even five times...

A GREAT IDEA - WELL IMPLEMENTED

A really good bit of kit and well worth the money.

Streams high bitrate music files faultlesly. Sounds impressive through quality hi-fi ; Internet capabilities and slim devices internet support are also really good

Would like it to have a digital output which sent 24bit signal to my external DAC
