Sennheiser RS 220

Wireless headphones with high-end sound. But are they worth £350?

Wide, open sound ; Clever, versatile dock design ; Very comfortable

Uncompressed wireless transmission ; Lack excitement with some material ; Lesser battery life than previous models

Sennheiser RS 220 review

Neat wireless solution with great sound quality

Transmitter doubles as charging dock ; digital and analogue inputs ; clear sound

Still not a match for wired options ; occasional slight crackles

A very neat wireless solution with great sound quality

Sennheiser RS 220 review

Wireless headphones with great sound

Comfortable ; Good sound quality ; Rechargeable battery

Very expensive ; Sound leak

Overall this is good set of headphones that when in range offer above average sound quality, as long as you stay in range. There are loads of connections built into the brilliantly useful base, but the price tag is still incredibly high for what you get.

Sennheiser RS 220 review

The Sennheiser RS 220 ($599) was conceived as a design statement and uses the same driver elements as the reference grade Sennheiser 600 series of wired headphones . Their plastic construction doesn't feel worthy of the price tag, but the material...

The Sennheiser RS 220 is a large, full-size headphone that uses advanced DSSS lossless wireless technology for exceptional sound quality.

The RS 220's shiny black plastic construction doesn't jive with its lofty price tag and the digital connection doesn't work with Dolby or DTS audio signals.

The Sennheiser RS 220 is one of the best-sounding wireless headphones on the market, but its super sonics don't offset its ambitious price tag when other models in the same line offer similar performance for less.

Sennheiser RS 220 review

The Sennheiser RS 220 wireless headphones come in a big box, but there's a reason for this other than just showing off. Bundled with the HDR 220 headphones is the TR 220 — a glossy black obelisk that acts as an all-in-one headphone charging station,...

Sennheiser's RS 220 wireless headphones genuinely surprised us: their sound quality is easily on par with the better wired models we've heard, and they have the advantage of being completely wireless. We didn't experience any drop-outs or loss of sound...

REVIEW: Sennheiser HD 700 Headphones

A mid-range audiophile offering may sound like a clumsy stepping stone for Sennheiser between their HD 650s and HD 800 headphones, but the HD 700s are anything but. We dive into sonic sublimity with the Sennheiser HD 700 headphones in our full review.

It's another direct hit from Sennheiser who, after the equally impressive RS 220 wireless headphones, are well on course for a stellar line up this year. Comfortable, detailed, easy to drive and a fair sight cheaper than the HD 800s, the HD 700...

Sennheiser RS 220 wireless hi-fi headphones

Sennheiser's newest wireless headphones finally deliver proper, audiophile-grade quality

Excellent sound quality for wireless ; Long battery life and easy recharge ; Extremely comfortable

High price tag ; Minor background noise at high receiver volume ; Heavier than wired models

Sennheiser's RS 220 wireless headphones genuinely surprised us: their sound quality is easily on par with the better wired models we've heard, and they have the advantage of being completely wireless. We didn't experience any drop-outs or loss of sound...
