Affordable open-backed headphones with rich sound
Brisk, detailed and entertaining sound ; Don’t leak sound quite as readily as some open-backed designs ; Comfortable and easy to wear
Lack low-frequency substance and assertiveness ; Don’t look or feel especially ‘premium’ ; Some cable options wouldn’t go amiss
The Sennheiser HD 505 get plenty more right than they get wrong, and as an object lesson in what (reasonably) affordable open-backed headphones can do for your listening pleasure, they’re pretty admirable. That’s not the same as suggesting they’re your...

Comfortable, likeable and long-lasting listening experience
Lightweight, comfortable design ; Smooth, refined, spacious sound ; Clear, detailed and agile ; Great for long hours of listening ; Unfussy with partnering
Rivals offer more punch and rhythmic precision ; Ear cushions could have better padding
Likeable and comfortable headphones that offer a smooth, open and engaging sound – these Sennheisers are easy to recommend

Looking for wired over-ear headphones on a budget? Sennheiser may have the answer
Light and comfortable design, Deftly informative and confident sound, Not as leaky as some other open-backed headphones
Short of low-frequency substance, A choice of cables would be nice, Not the most tactile or luxurious object, Plenty of capable rivals, including from within the same brand
The HD 505 go a long way towards justifying Sennheiser’s claim that they’re the perfect introduction to ‘proper hi-fi’ sound. With a little more low-end brawn and a ‘proper hi-fi’ cable option, they’d go further still.

With the HD 505 Copper Edition, Sennheiser is hoping to attract a young generation of audiophiles. #sennheiser #hd505 #headphones
Really comfortable wearing experience ; Balanced and detailed sound signature ; Swappable cables and earpads
Chassis design is a bit boring ; Doesn't come with a 4.4mm balanced cable ; Price isn't enticing enough
TL;DR: An excellent starting point for new audiophiles or for anyone looking for open-back headphones that provide a balanced sound and wide soundstage. Note: You can find the Sennheiser HD 505 Copper Edition on Lazada , Shopee , Amazon , and...

Detail production at this level is good. ; Comfortable fit with a wide range of adjustability.
Underwhelming unboxing experience. ; The cable system makes it hard to obtain 3rd party cables.
