Rosewill RHTS-8206 Review

Looking for a 5.1 surround gaming headset? The affordable RHTS-8206 from Rosewill is vying for your attention so read on to find our verdict.

If someone was looking for a new headset, it would seem fairly likely that they may overlook the Rosewill RHTS-8206. The packaging livery seems more music production than gamer and when considering the price tag, one may be more attracted towards a...

Better than most - 3.5 eggs if it was possible.

- Wish it was "around the ear" (circumaural) - Thicker padding on cups, or less tension on the headband - Better placement of the control box **Glasses wearers** - Be aware that this may cause some pain over time, as little as 20 minutes in my...

- Sound quality is pretty great. - The vibration was not nearly as gimmicky as I thought it would be, it added an extra level of "boom" when listening to music to drown out the loud annoying kids. Although just on level 1, level 2 is just too much. -...

- The control box is a little on the low(or high depending on how you look at it) on the cord. It's not low enough to place it on the desk so it won't fall when you sit back and it's not high enough to easily grab it and adjust the volume, you have to...

Shoddy circuitry construction...

Vibration can be toggled on and off. Capable of emulating 7.1 surround rather flawlessly. Surprisingly high quality/clarity microphone. Nice, long cord. LED indicators on the control box to let you know if you've accidentally muted yourself.

Initially, I thought that the 3 of these headsets I had bought (one for me, one for my boyfriend, and one for our friend) were all dying off because of a Windows 10 incompatibility. But that turned out to be nothing more than coincidental timing. My...

Great if you avoid Windows 10...

Bought 3: One for my laptop, one for my boyfriend's primary rig, and one for our friend. The friend was the first to upgrade to Windows 10 out of us. A short while later, his device was "malfunctioning" according to Windows. Next to upgrade was the...

The driver... Out of the 3 sets of these headphones I bought, all for different computers, they've all stopped working sometime after upgrading to Windows 10 - and Rosewill's website offers no windows 10 driver. Once the OS has decided these devices...

Good audio wise. Bad Microphone.

Very good audio and very good vibration function.

At some points I can hear some audio mess ups and the mic makes my voice sounds like it's going through a bad voice changer.

Easy setup and they work great

It looks like they quit making these. this is hands down the best set of gaming headphones I've ever owned. and that the price point I don't know how you could beat them. For sure I would buy these again....in fact that's how I found out the quit...

There is simply nothing I don't like about them, the remote isn't heavy, they don't pickup em interference. I can't say enough about them.

they may be a tad heavy but even on long sessions of 4 to 6 hours they aren't bad.

Great sound quality.

Good quality for the price. I would and have recommended this to others.

It easily fits with no problem, sounds great, everything is adjustable on a small and sleek built in controller, vibration is nice.

After a little use, it starts to hurt. The cushion could be a thicker and make more room for people with bigger ears. Also, if you use voice chat, you'll have to keep vibration off because it tends to give a lot of feedback on their end.

Comfortable and would be great...if it worked.

If the issues surrounding the functionality were resolved, I would give this a solid 5 stars. As it stands right now, I would say save your money and buy something that has a better rep. When I bought them, I was hoping that the poor reviews were just...

I found this headset to be very comfortable to wear.

Wiring is poor- there is something wrong with the connections between the volume etc adjustment box and also the wire running from the ear. Anytime I use it, it is prone to cutting out or worse, giving anyone I am playing with a huge headache because...

Still using them

I bought these years ago, but Newegg has lost my order history for them so I don't know how long it's been. I also had Tritton 5.1 surround with 8 driver vibrating, but those have also been deleted from my history. The Tritton has a decoder amp box and...

They are still working after all these years
