Røde NTH-100

Once you get over the outdated configuration, there's nothing but positive things to say about the Røde NTH-100

Articulate, convincing sound in all scenarios ; Built to last ; Good-looking (in a purposeful sort of way)

Sonic even-handedness won’t suit everybody ; Hard-wired configuration won’t be for all ; Earpads heat up over time

Once you get over the outdated configuration, there’s nothing but positive things to say about the NTH-100 wired headphones. Whether you want to use them for casual or critical listening, these Røde headphones are a compelling option.

Rode NTH-100 review

No school like the old school

Eloquent, revealing sound ; Well made and almost good-looking ; Comfortable for hours at a time

May sound analytical to some ears ; Wired configuration isn’t fashionable ; Will heat your ears eventually

Be as critical or as casual in your listening as you like – the Røde NTH-100 will put you fully in the picture

Rode NTH-100 review: great-value wired headphones for creators (or music lovers)

Rode's first-ever headphones are a smash hit, as long as you're looking for something with super-clear and super-neutral presentation

Startlingly open, informative and confident sound ; Well made and comfortable ; Businesslike look (in a good way)

Some will require more sonic excitement ; Shorter cable is a cost option ; ‘Cooltech’ ear cushions only effective up to a point

The Rode NTH-100 tell a story in which a very reasonable sum buys you a pair of headphones that are a) deeply impressive in every sonic respect, and b) the opposite of modern. If you want to hear every nuance of your audio work without colour, they're...

Incredible audio, robust build, low price

Amazing clarity and sense of space ; Robust and incredibly comfortable ; Excellent value

In-line microphone sold separately

Just like the high-quality microphones that saw the Rode name become synonymous with excellence across the globe, we foresee the NTH-100 cementing itself as a studio staple for years to come – from bedroom workstations to world-class recording booths....

RØDE NTH-100 review: perfect for podcasting and much, much more

Australian microphone brand RØDE launches its first-ever pair of headphones.

Superb comfort ; Uncoloured sound ; Adjustable fit ; Detachable cable

Fairly heavy ; Fabric earcups are harder to clean than vinyl

The RØDE NTH-100 are the perfect pair of podcast headphones.

Rode NTH-100 review: Super-comfy studio cans

Rode's first set of headphones are beautifully designed and comfortable, but do they have what it takes to beat the world's favorite studio monitors?

Sleek, modern design Superbly cushioned comfort Very good passive sound isolation Dual locking cable inputs Very clear and balanced sound

Can't fold or swivel 90 degrees Heavier than most studio monitors Narrow headband

“Those who need a tool for critical listening have a comfy, capable new option in the Rode NTH-100 headphones.”

Rode’s first pair of headphones offer a comfortable and balanced way to monitor audio

Headband locks, comfy ear cushions, and unique design

Very comfortable ; Swappable cable on either side of ear cups ; Good sound ; Durable ; Lockable headband

They do not fold ; A bit bulky for some ; $50 more than industry standard Sony MDR-7506

The NTH-100s are wired, over-ear headphones designed for audio and video productions. These deliver a flatter frequency response for more accurate mixing and monitoring.

Rode NTH-100 headphones review

Pure and clean professional studio-quality audio at a price that will excite you

Pure and clean audio profile ; Thunder-from-down-under bass ; Sturdy ; Eye-catching ergonomic design ; Comfortable over long periods

A wireless version would be nice

The Rode NTH-100 Headphones are stylish, ergonomically designed acoustic masterpieces that make sturdy and affordable headphones a reality.

RØDE NTH-100 Review

While RØDE is well-known for its microphones and audio equipment, the Australian company released the RØDE NTH-100, its first pair of headphones, in spring 2022....

Comfortable and well-built design. Detachable 1/8" TRS cable.

Prone to inconsistencies in bass delivery. Distortion present at high volumes. Poor noise isolation performance. Bulky and can fall off of your head with moderate movement. No mic.

The RØDE NTH-100 are satisfactory for neutral sound. They have a warm, round overall sound profile that delivers a bit of extra boom to mixes. Vocals and instruments sound mellow but a bit muddy, while sibilants like cymbals are veiled. Unfortunately,...
